Not sure how Greaves can ride at Number 1 mind, Surely Sarjeant has a higher NL average then Greaves?

This put together Leicester team ? Looks like it will be too strong for Kent - No Morley

There's info on the Leicester website:

Kent Kings

  1. Ben Hopwood (Guesting for Ben Morley, who's on Lakeside duty. Needs to be focussed tonight)
  2. Aaron Baseby (Something to prove? Now's the time)
  3. David Mason (We need the best from Magic to compete in this one)
  4. Luke Chessell (Cometh the hour, cometh the man. His performance will be decisive)
  5. Simon Lambert (Starting to find his form now. He was my choice (or Luke Bowen) to replace Boxall. Game on Simon)
  6. Luke Harris (This type of tie separates the men from the boys. Luke needs to step up to the plate for this one)
  7. Danny Ayres (Another potential match winner. Oh Danny boy, the fans they are a calling)

Leicester Lion Cubs

  1. Nathan Greaves (Guesting for the magnificent Oliver Greenwood. Well capable of double figures)
  2. Dan Greenwood (OMG this looks bad for us already)
  3. Tom Perry (God how we need Benji back)
  4. Max Clegg (You have got to be kidding me)
  5. James Sarjeant (Okay, now I'm really worried)
  6. Tom Woolley (The only potential weakness)
  7. James Shanes (This could be a real spanking for us)

Leicester are only competing in the National Trophy at NL level, against Kent, Mildenhall, and Stoke. They've cherry-picked riders from the remaining 6 NL clubs, and assembled this team with a combined season starting average of 39.68. Current form suggests they're now punching at around the 57 point mark. Oh dear! Our boys need to bring their A game for this one.

We definitely do not want to see that blue groove again this week. Rumour has it the attendances are falling. Len Silver, you might want to think about employing a decent (1) track curator, and (2) tractor driver. Also, what's the latest on Brandon Freemantle? He's Tenerife bound, according to Facebook.

To be fair to Luke Harris he still is a boy in the eyes of the law! Not a fan of the way Leicester have tackled putting a side together for the Tropht but if it leads to them putting out a full NL outfit in future then fair play I guess.

I can't believe there is still no preview on the Kings website! The promotion should be building some excitement/ anticipation for every home meeting they put on! Words are failing me now.

You are correct, just typical of the way the Club is and has been going for a while.

A preview has now appeared.

Better late than never I suppose. :nono:

I really worry for Kents future, if you want to know why, just read the Rye House v Somerset thread, it seems to me Kent are being run by the same people, are Kent heading in the same direction ?.

That is the big concern I have and I think many.

The latest I read was that he is still suffering from constant headaches. That was about a week ago I think. Edited by Islander15

I find it incredible that they have called the meeting off on the basis that it could rain later

They have been predicting heavy rain from Friday, yet all we have had is glorious sunshine except for a heavy shower saturday morning

It may turn out to be the right decision, but they got the Wimbledon match on with far worse

Kent and Rye House situations cannot in any way be compared

Yes there are some similarities that both clubs own their own stadia which serve both clubs well, Len Silver is co promoter at both tracks but in Kent's situation that was a requirement for a new promotion.

There the story ends

Operating in different leagues with different goals.

Rye House have a history of being a relatively successful club and that is where most of the problems lie for us.

Kent on the other hand are attempting two things ...one to become established in the sport which they have managed very well. The other is to have a more liberal licence that allows more usage, later start / finish times more racing etc. if that is granted then it would seem logical that they would be in a position to move up. To be fair i firmly believe that Rye House have suffered badly since Mr Silver became involved at Kent rather than the other way round. Not only is it the time consumption that is a problem but also the fact that Bank Holiday meetings no longer take place at Hoddesdon as the Promotion are busy in a Kent, Rye have had to revert to a 2PM start on a sunday that no only clashes with Mildenhall but isn't particularly welcomed by the fans either.

Furthermore the cheap weak side that Rye House have put out is partly because of the large expense of the airfence which has seen two popular Swedish riders leave the club due to costs.

The addition of a rider like Steve Boxall to Rye House as second heat leader has quite frankly become a joke. He may have got away with sub standard machinery in the NL but currently is barely a reserve standard in the PL. These are some of the reasons that there is unrest at Rye none of which affect Kent.

BH Monday meetings I can make @ Rye - Sunday's I work so you know where my thoughts are on that one.

I've mentioned it on the Rye thread but he we go again - the airfence would have been either mostly or totally covered by the money recieved from the landfill ! We all know Len makes a profit from Rye. :P

Having checked the forecast I'm very surprised this meeting is off - worth keeping an eye on the weather! another shot in the foot by the KK.
