Berwick probably deserved a point but to be honest I felt like we were chasing the meeting from the start and never looked like winning. The Kerr Robson pairing is very strong and will take a bit of beating! Berwick will take positives from the score of Kus, but he cant do it all on his own...too many last places but I think it was just one of those nights

Kus only had the beating of the reserves, Rose, who should still be a reserve in his first season, and Lindgren, who is just riding like a reserve. His winning times we're 2.5 seconds off the other 12 heats.

Still way better than his usual Brough showing of 0,0,3,0 but he wouldn'thave finished any higher than Doolan in ht15. I guess Doolan was chosen due the fact that if he made the gate he had more chance of keeping the Diamonds behind him.

I too was impressed with young Nielsen and thought Carr much improved from previous visits.

Good meeting

That was one of my bug bears too.. We need to use Matej in that form as much as possible... But everyone from Berwick will be hurting after this... So heads down, severe arse kicking needed and move on.. We will come back from this

On a side note.. 2 issues... No.1: How very disappointing to see Dan Greenwood IMO deliberately stay down in Heat 7.. The Geordies slated Starkey last year on the TV match when he done the same thing... anything to say about that now? Well Done to Liam for getting up so quickly when he came off...

No.2: the track... Yes, Berwick ain't perfect... But what is the issue with that 2nd bend... So many seemed to get unwanted drive.. Overlock it.. Whatever...it's better then what I've seen in the past but still needs work on it...

We did not deserve to come away with nothing... Just my opinion... Kudos to Newcastle for giving us a reality check in some ways! We will be back!

Might have something to do with all the rain we had the previous day? The track was underwater on Sunday morning, don't forget.

Have to question some of the Berwick Team Managers moves tonight and why Kus only got 5 rides!

And in one of those he was thrown in against Robson and Kerr in what should very obviously have been used as the third ride for Liam Carr. That is very bad team management.

Could it possibly be because Kus did not want to ride in those heats because of the severe pain from his Wisdom tooth that is being operated on next Saturday? just a thought like.

Some people open thier gobs and let thier a**e rumble when they have absolutely no idea what is going on in the pits. Very well done to Kus for even doing the meeting at all...

I'm not sure what this is all about. Whether he had toothache or not, there was a choice whether to use him in heat 9 or heat 12 to replace Liam. It seems unlikely that the pain from his toothache had any effect on that. It was not a criticism of Kus, if he rode with toothache then well done for that. But better to put him in a race where he has a better chance of beating the opposition.
