Phil The Ace
Diggers won't be digging till next year at earliest. Don't expect it any sooner The news at the end of the week is positive but don't expect the get go just yet. But we are going in the right direction slowly Little steps will get us there. No need for big strides just yet

Midland Red
Is it not time to consider bidding for Brandon Stadium, to become the National Speedway Centre?
pandorum
Is it not time to consider bidding for Brandon Stadium, to become the National Speedway Centre? Why not Poole as they run the sport anyhow? Do we actually NEED a National Tin Shed? Does it mean anyone can use it?If only Diana was still alive

pandorum
We only snipe because we have heard it all before. They have probably bought a new shovel. The announcement will likely be on a par with below. 'I found this spoon sir' Edited June 3, 2014 by pandorum

waiheke1
Without being negative,, is that really "concrete news." While I guess it is positive news, the fact that it still doesn't have planning permission seems to indicate someway to go before a usable stadium - 2016 at the earliest? Aces51
The positive news has to be that it is still moving forward, that the council are fully supportive, that it has now reached the stage of a series of information displays to the public and that the planning application is expected later this month. We would all prefer to see much quicker progress, including the Belle Vue promotion. However, that is not in their hands but slowly and surely things are progressing. arthur cross
EXPECT some positive and concrete news about the Belle Vue National Stadium later this week... Is today's press release from the Aces what you trailed as "positive news" ? Because if it is, this project has reached the giddy heights of regarding people being able to go along to their local library to see some sketches as "positive news" or as Dave Gordon refers to it, "a massive step forward". More accurately, one of the most basic steps within any planning process (letting the locals have a look at it) is going to take place in a few days' time. If the clowns that run Belle Vue are getting so excited about this basic step, no wonder they're going to be so far out of their depth if they ever have to actually run this project should it ever get completed.
