Shadders
I gave up on the fish and chips at Rye a long while ago You gave up on Rye House a long while ago Going back to crappy stadiums. Don't see many Monarchs fans complaining about Armadump. I'd take their run down stadium with that team any day. Roland
That is harsh in the extreme on Risager! The lad was good value for his paid double figures and he continues his fine season. Very harsh to single him out for failing to topple a very good and quick home pair (off better gates) in heat 15. It was a bit harsh on the lad, but CL had the chance to roll the dice here. He said at the start of the season he wanted to base his management style on Peter Adams why not go one better and emulate the greatest of all.......JB! Stick Ritchie Hawkins in ...... Stick Gino in........Stick Rohan in!! Back in the day JB would have a 3 pointer show an 8 pointer then fence so that a positive or heat advantage could happen, the match was won, so why not do something different. I personally don't think the rider choices for heat 15 could be criticised. Prior to heat 15 Risager had been better or at least as good as any Ipswich rider on show apart from Hawkins. As well as Hawkins rode on the day, I personally still would have gone with Worrall and Risager to try and get the points necessary when up against two very fast riders around Rye in Kennett and Garrity. Easy after the event to say they should have gone with someone else, but I called the rider choices the same as the team manager and plenty of the Ipswich fans around me did too. As has been said, the bizarre choice of gate position definitely could be criticised for an outsiders point of view. Maybe they had good reasons why 1 and 3 were chosen, but it's hard to fathom from where we were standing. Would be interesting to hear who chose the gates and the reasons for it. Ben91
You gave up on Rye House a long while ago Going back to crappy stadiums. Don't see many Monarchs fans complaining about Armadump. I'd take their run down stadium with that team any day. When my friends started standing elsewhere I love my speedway and I've been to two meetings at Rye this season, granted for some I've been busy but for others I just can't justify the cost because there is nothing served up other than the 15 races with numerous lengthy delays. Brujas Espanolas
How many people go to speedway because of the facilities? All I ask is for somewhere to park the car and have a pi$$.......... And there sadly is the rub. I suspect the vast majority of people demand far more for their leisure buck, than having somewhere to park their car and somewhere to urinate!!!! Of course the hard core anorak will watch the sport anywhere, regardless of facilities. As we know these individuals are a dying breed, and if the sport is to survive beyond the end of the decade, changes need to be made to attract new fans. People now demand to be entertained in pleasant surroundings, with decent catering and facilities. Spedeworth are to be applauded for recognising this......although I fear it may all be too late, for speedway at least. Good to see the perennial Fish and Chip debate thundering on unabated!!!! It would be great if in 10 years time discussion focused on the quality of the Foxhall Paella, the wonders of the Rye House Chorizo, and the diversity of the Mildenhall tapas. That said in ten years time, it'll be great if speedway itself in the UK was still here to discuss!!!!

As soon as we saw Risager we knew who would be last, and he just 'poodles' around at the back, straight out of the Miskoviak book of under achievement. If you called the same two, you were wrong, just like he was!
Arch Stanton
Risager has been Ipswich' most consistent rider so far this season, was again consistent in this fixture, scoring 9+1 in his 4 programmed rides, and STILL the lad gets pelters from some of his own teams supporters. Unbelievable. For the record, Worrall and Risager were my two for heat 15 too.

Unbelievable. For the record, Worrall and Risager were my two for heat 15 too. Yup mine too. Worrall was again up and down, but had just won heat 13 beating Kennett in the process so the thinking there was that probably he'd got it right at the tail end of the meeting. The second choice was a closer call, and you could definitely make a case for Hawkins. But in the end I personally would have plumped for Risager too. BluPanther
The rider choice was probably correct, the gates pick was horrendous...
CardinalSin
The rider choice was probably correct, the gates pick was horrendous... Agreed. And once the Rye pair trapped they were never going to be caught and passed.
Ben91
Don't most tracks only serve up 15 races? At Ipswich that's all you get I'm talking things like rider interviews, music befitting of the event not just an old now cd stuck on and paused during races. Little things that make the evening seem less of a drag. Not asking for fireworks, just something to help the time pass between heats.

Brought a tear of laughter when they played it at Rye for the British SF (Sounded like it was played on an old gramophone) - Priceless
