pointsmeanplayoffs
News is that Mallett has suffered muscle damage NOT broken bones which is hopefully not as bad as first feared, a terribly awkward looking crash which from my view looked like he landed on the concrete infield. What's the latest on Sarjeant? Concussion? Wish both riders speedy recoveries. Yes the meeting took an age, but when rider's are receiving treatment you won't find anyone moaning about a delay.
IainB
a bit of bah humbug here. Surely the well being of the injured riders has priority. If it took an hour. so be it. 4 riders in race announced officially. two KLS riders get cheered on from centre green announcer. why not? Because I'd like to know who's in the race Yes the well being of the riders has priority, this doesn't mean you have to ignore the punters for over an hour, only in the last 10 minutes or so was anything done to break the boredom. If it's tractors and diesel fumes that do it for you, then... I suppose, why not?
semion
The break gave me a chance to catch up with with a good few people who are in the same stand as me. Try it, its called socialising. It makes the time go way real quick. Like others have said the Riders health is the main ( if not the only) priority. Last week we had to wait until 8.30 for the first race. People Understood it was either that or no racing.
Star Lady
Delighted Darren Mallett is not as badly injured as first feared, I had a horrible feeling watching the medics treat him last night. Not sure that the stream should have kept their cameras focused on that really. Hopefully Seargeant will be OK, he looked terribly wobbly and out of it as he walked to the golf buggy. Best wishes to them both. As for the delays - necessary of course and I hope no one would expect riders health to be put at risk for the sake of "getting on with it". What did come over on the stream last night was the total ineptness of the centre green announcer. When a crash like that occurs the last thing anyone wants to hear is "rider safety comes first" repeated ad nauseum. We all KNOW that. His job should be to occupy the crowd and (impossible I know) try to take their minds off the crash, I was bored stupid and I was watching Springwatch, Twitter, Updates and BSF as well as phoning my daughter. I can only imagine what it was like on the terraces. Surely it's not beyond the bounds of possibility to have a plan in place for just such an eventuality. Mike Bennett always managed to cover such delays well. Someone put on here very early on about having rider interviews but it took over 30 minutes for that to be done - not good enough IMO. As for the tractors, at least it means the riders in the following heats have a smooth and consistent track to ride on. I hope I never hear anyone complain about the catch fencing again. That's twice in exactly the same place I've seen bikes go over the safety fence and twice the catch fencing has prevented a very nasty incident.
semion
Thats when a true Pro like Bennett really earned his corn. He would be onto it straight away. Rider interviews, managers Interviews, any stray rider there who turned up to watch. I guess this new guy will learn, at some point. No one around me was moaning about the delay, people were just generally chatting and socialising. All part of Speedway for many.
whippy
Darren Mallett was left with nowhere to go when Garrity locked up in front of him which in turn caused Sarjeant to plough into Mallett. Sargeant went to pits in medics buggy, Mallett in ambulance.Hope both riders are ok.

tellboy
Because I'd like to know who's in the race Well I clearly heard him name every rider in every race,i think you may suffer from selective hearing.Don't worry we all suffer from that from time to time, with me I normally suffer from it when the missus wants something doing. pointsmeanplayoffs
We can send Peter York over to you! You'll like that, . . . . . Please god no! Would enjoy his interviews with "Roger" Lambert though. I didn't think the chappy last night on the mic was too bad, tough gig for anyone to follow Mike B as he was superb. The guy at Leicester is OK, seems quite good and I liked it when he want walkabout into the crowd to speak to fans. Maybe we could try that at Lynn? g13webb
I feel sorry for the Coventry supporters who actually travelled to the match, and then having to travel home late last night. I have done this before and it don't go down too well. I remember going to the Brandonapolis not long ago, and that went on forever. Fortunately this was an exception rather then the rule, usually the meeting are finished well before half nine. Still waiting to hear on Sargent, but have heard Mallet has thankfully escaped without any broken bones. Must say my take on the incident was totally down to Garrity. He pulled a big lock-up coming off the 4th bend, Mallet, following close behind, tried to lock up , but Sargent had no-where to go and crashed into Mallett. Reading much about the quality of the FTR, I had imagined Garrity to be one on the best, but watching him last night, I thought he was a liability. Hopefully that performance was a one off, other wise I can see him or others getting hurt..... Pleased to see Bomber on the pace. He always go well here. Involved in 3 cracking races and was the only man to beat Niels. Hopefully he will do better in the SGP this weekend.
Haza
My opinion of Jason Garrity has fallen after over hearing his comments regarding heat 9 in the pits two riders had fallen Mallett and Sarjeant and in a ambulance but Garrity wanted to make a 3rd rider in a ambulance several people heard this including some of his team mates Kenneth Hansen had a word can only guess it was to calm him down . Comments like Garrity made are un called for the sport is dangerous enough .

SCB
read the post again I already have . Why did Garrity have an issue? Something must have happened. People don't just randomly threaten to send people off in an ambulance.
Jacques
read the post again I already have . No you haven't, you said comments he made, what did he actually say then and who is the rider he threatened to send of in the ambulance. If you heard it, you can repeat it surely? CB252
Why did Garrity have an issue? Something must have happened. People don't just randomly threaten to send people off in an ambulance. Garrity had an issue with Kerr over his horrendous move from the start in the initial re-run of Heat 9. I was on the first bend looking directly down the home straight and Kerr came straight across the front of him when the tapes went up leaving him nowhere to go but down in an untidy heap. Punches were being thrown at the pit gate by Garrity's crew as they couldn't get onto the track quick enough. I heard Garrity say that he was going to 'do' Kerr in the re-run (with a few expletives thrown in) but he didn't actually make a concerted effort to do anything silly in any of the other races where they met. He was fired up and had a sore head and arm after the crash. Storm in a tea cup.

Gavan
Garrity has some form for this. At Ipswich last year Dakota North deliberatly fenced Barker. Im not Barkers biggest fan but you dont do what North did. Anyway who was in the pits egging North on and getting involved - Garrity
