g13webb
Feel sad to hear the passing of Simmo, but also honoured to have had the privileged of knowing him. The years he spent at Lynn provided wonderful memories and the excitement created with the battles with Bettsy for being the No1 will never be forgotten.. Simmo was everything a rider could be, Smart, Intelligent, Sharp, Smooth, Ladies Man, Leader, Mechanic, even a Rogue at times. He was undoubtedly, in a class of his own and lived life to the full.... RIP Simmo....

E I Addio
A great rider and a thoroughly nice bloke. Simmo always seemed to be able to combine a strong desire to win with a great sense of fun. We shall not see the like of him again.

Catalan
Simmo was probably my first sporting hero when he joined Poole. Was always a gent even when I saw him angered at Eastbourne he put the phone down on the Ref and very gracefully gave the Ref the V's what a guy! dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Having been born in 1971 I was probably too young to realise how good he really was as I grew up. It was only as I got older and learned more about the sports history that I was able to appreciate his true position in British speedway folklore. RIP Simmo.
