TheScotsman
Simon averaged over 6 and a half less than 3 years ago so the ability was there. Did he have some big crashes to reduce his effectiveness?
emilali
What an awful signing, dunno why Worky even bothered. As some people have mentioned its the problems elsewhere in the team that are letting Worky down.
topaz325
Best of luck in the future Millsy, welcome to Workington Simon Lambert. northyorksbear
When I read all reports on Mills going and Lambert being signed I get the impression Mills was ditched with no replacement in mind seem a strange scenario to a neutral, am I wide of the mark here or was there an underlying issue with Mills?? Shadders
When I read all reports on Mills going and Lambert being signed I get the impression Mills was ditched with no replacement in mind It does seem that way. Perhaps they thought they were signing the other Lambert? Edited May 28, 2014 by Shadders
stevehone
i think both Mills & Lambert had their best season when at Kings Lynn with Tomas Topinka shielding them once they'd gated, maybe that's the sort of team partner both riders need to make an improvement

I think Lambert and Mills are NL standard and have shown little to prove otherwise.
TheScotsman
But both averaged over 6 and a half in 2011. What went wrong?
Triple.H.
I would've thought that James McBain may have been a better choice. Unless of course there's some daft rule in place to prevent it.
Ned Kelly 41
Might Workingtom have considered doing what Scunthorpe and Berwick are doing, and taken the bold step of giving the jacket to a teenaged local lad out of one of their two NJL teams? DIAMONDS
Their NJL teams don't really have any great PL quality riders.

Bandits4eva
Their NJL teams don't really have any great PL quality riders. Liam hasn't been setting the world alight either but week on week he has been making progress and learning. His invaluable point at Workington in Heat 2 went a long way to getting us the 4 points. He's with a team who are committed to giving him time.. Working with him as he learns... He's scoring better in the NL... And to think he started off in 2nd halfs... For someone to say he is one of the worst reserves in the PL is a bit of an insult to how Liam has developed.. Just my opinion tho!

Generally it's our better guy's who do the team riding together as they are usually the quickest and need little encouragement as each knows the other will be there or thereabouts anyway? Boobs
Chris Mills now going to Newcastle? Good to hear he's getting a gig again. Diamonds made a real mess of their last changes, Millsie might offer some solidarity at the bottom end. Liam hasn't been setting the world alight either but week on week he has been making progress and learning. His invaluable point at Workington in Heat 2 went a long way to getting us the 4 points. Bandits e-newsletter last night made much the same points, and it is clear Berwick are more than happy with his progress, which isn't being helped by so many rained-off matches. Once he gets more racing under his belt, with Bandits and Hitmen, his scoring will rise. Worst reserve in the League? You're having a laugh. StevePark
Chris has now signed for Newcastle, replacing Dan Greenwood.
CaptainAudi
How can Mills (3.05) replace Greenwood (3.00) with a greater average when Newcastles total is over 42.5?
Ned Kelly 41
I'd guess that the new averages, to run from Sunday onwards will see Chris Mills' CMA reduced to 3.00, as he had a few poor (by his standards) matches in May. Presumably Newcastle won't be able to re-declare until June averages are released.
