Coventry V Birmingham 26th May 2014

Recommended Posts

shouldn't have nearly lost to Birmingham I'm sorry but Larsen should've been signed weeks ago. Poor management.

You don't know the circumstances.

If Coventry sign Larsen then they will have to field a 3 pointer on the 2nd of July at Kings Lynn and Mick isn't prepared to do that.

Surely Larsen has to be declared for Fisher tomorrow as minimum? Larsen for Fish would have meant 3 or 4 more points tonight meaning 3 league points and not 2. Larsen makes this team the best of the rest (after Lynn) but with Fisher it hit or miss making top 4.

I just don't think they are interested in maximizing the chances we have of success. Perhaps they are under the deluded impression that a lucky away win at Poole makes us title contenders.

If the move was possible, Larsen for Fisher this week was a no brainer. I stand to be corrected but in my opinion, the fact Neil Watson hasn't commented on the subject since the suposed mistake to Hansen's average was pointed out to him speaks volumes.

At home we were run close by Leicester, scraped a win against an injury hit Lakeside team and got out of jail big time tonight against the league's basement club. The later two results both went to last heat deciders. Then we lost our other two. We have dropped points in every home meeting this season except one.

The form of Ryan Fisher was always going to make or break our season. I understand he has had personal problems but he's gone right off the boil. We can see from the terraces that this team is not good enough to challenge for the title this year. I wonder why it seems to be so hard for the management to see that from the pits?

As I look at the scorers from tonight's meeting I find myself questioning if this was an Elite League meeting or a Premier League meeting. If either Birmingham or Coventry had been racing at a Premier League team tonight; my educated guess is that the PL team would win or it would a least be a close run thing. Of the 13 riders making up both teams; only Andersen/Harris - Bees and Nermark/King - Brummies can claim to be 'elite riders'. Somewhere along the line someone is going to realise that the Elite League has run its course and an amalgamation of the EL/PL has to happen - perhaps with a regionalised split North/South. To present the Elite League as the 'elite' is misleading the paying public in a way.

Well the Premier League has been masquerading as Premier for 17 years now and is still going and in some cases is charging the same price as the Elite League!

Well seeing this last night was like watching the great escape ! poor result for the bees ??? Possibly but with 3 heats to go any bees fan would of bitten your hand off for an old fashioned 46-44!

Big plus was bomber who has put 2 back to back meetings together winning races which can only give him confidence.

As most are saying on here how obvious is it bees still need help at the top end of the order?? Are the management just hoping to scrape into the top 4 in which case would face Lynne whos top 3 over two legs would tare Coventry apart !!

Hope Ryan and Josh are ok as did look nasty.

Might have to back Bomber for the GP tonight now. Outstanding form beating Covatti and Bates on his own track!! The 7.50 averaging superstar is back!![/quote

Fair point, but 2 weeks ago he wouldnt of so signs of improvement at least.

Or perhaps the BSPA are insisting Hansen average is 5.25 therefore the Fisher-Larsen change cant happen? Lots of reason why they havent bought Larsen in, a comment from the management would be nice.

BSPA now got Hansen as 5.00, wish they had done it sooner.

Larsen's Polish club are meant to be putting pressure on him not to ride in UK. We are running out of time so can't see a change.

Sad thing is we won't do much without

With respect, it speaks volumes that neither me nor the Club conduct our business via an internet forum. Look on us as a swan if you wish - serene on the outside but working hard out of sight......

Seeing that the Bees escaped by the skin of their teeth last night, I would've thought the management will be well aware of the precarious situation Coventry are in.

Either make the team stronger now, or watch any chance of getting in the play-offs disappear in the months ahead.

Looking at the league table, Eastbourne, Belle Vue, Wolves and Swindon will all come to the table fighting to join the top three there at present.

Decision time
