waco
The management have tried to make this fixture attractive with the inclusion of Steve Boxall for Lambert and Luke Bowen for the dons,,expect some excitng races between these,, and throw in the in form Ben Morley and the racing.is sure to be competitive..Hopefully the weather will be okay ?
Old Crusader
My sentiments exactly.Tried to post the same yesterday but as a newbie to the forum there seemed to be a hitch. This is the first time this season that I will get an opportunity to visit Central Park. Looking forward to seeing the track improvements. Is it banked a little towards the fence now? Fingers crossed on the weather!

DragonsDen
I am a big Wimbledon fan but fail to see why people are promoting a club on this forum that have the following attitude. Not the case.Any customer (and there's been a small number from both clubs...) who have emailed the club have had full and detailed replies promptly sent to them.I said that we will NOT discuss the club on the BSF not because any of the contributors to this particular debate aren't worthy of responses but because the BSF itself is an utterly bankrupt forum - one which condones bullying and has been abandoned by its so-called moderators.
Old Crusader
OK the clubs not perfect. However at least I have a local speedway team now. The last one closed in 1987 and that's a long time ago.

Old Crusader
Where are all the Kent Kings supporters? We used to be at the top of this forum last year what's happened? Why the lack of conversation? Have I missed something? So what if the management won't comment here, can't we talk to each other?

Well said but I think sadly most supporters have migrated to FB and Twitter

blueherb777
Three things about todays meeting. 1) Raining from the time we got there - So well done to ALL riders and Officials for getting through the meeting. 2) Danny Ayres is looking better each meeting. 3) What a shame Aaron Baseby does not have a Club.
gammy73
Three things about todays meeting. 1) Raining from the time we got there - So well done to ALL riders and Officials for getting through the meeting. 2) Danny Ayres is looking better each meeting. 3) What a shame Aaron Baseby does not have a Club. My views entirely too! A huge well done to all concerned for getting this meeting thru all 15 heats and big respect to all riders too! Had a very enjoyable afternoon at central park 2day! A really good competitive match with all riders trying their hardest. What a pleasure it was to see the Boxmeister ripping it up around central park again! Pure class and so so happy he's turning it on in the PL! He's looking the mutts nuts too I must add? Matching bike and kevlars!!! Very impressive! lol! Have to say it was the 1st time ive seen Danny Ayres ride? Have only gone by whats been said about him on here? But my god! Sign that boy up now cos if we let him slip thru we will regret it big time!!! So so impressed with him! How old is he? He gave 100% today and will easily make the top 5 in my view if given the chance! Have to say the 5-1 him and mason did was brilliant! Class from mason protecting him all the way round and that's what Mason brings to the table that's for sure! May not go out there winning races but does the total "team man" job out there! Thought Luke Chessell looked good today too? Defo starting to show the form the management have said he's capable of! Hopefully if he starts getting more points he'll be able to afford covers for his bike too? lol! But joking aside he looks to be improving well. Ben looked class again today I thought! Made it 11 out of 11 until the "incident" in his 4th ride? Sure it was just a racing incident but the lad didn't look too happy about it? But he's looking so good and benefitting big time with the fast track system which is benefitting us in return. Gotta make the most of him this season I fear as sure he will be too good come end of season to stay in the NL? But will fully deserve it! Moving onto Aaron Baseby! As previous poster said how the hell has he not got a team place!!! He looked so good out there and its just a talent going to waste imo? Be lovely if we could squeeze him in somehow come the new averages, but if not then surely someone has to snap him up?
westhamboy66
All things considered a very good meeting on what looked a well prepared track congratulations to all the riders for their efforts Great to see Luke Bowen giving it a right go especially after his fall. Not sure there was any incident with Ben Morley, Luke held is ground and despite all the hand waving it showed why Ben isn't yet included at Rye House. Indeed he did himself no favours when the two met again. One thing that really pleased me was finally seeing the real Luke Chessell he was very impressive. waco
Good decision by Len not to water the track before the meeting other wise it would not have been completed.//Highlight of the afternoon was the form of Danny Ayers ,he has pace and is now less likely to fall by overiding Hope we have him under contract...his 5-1 with David Mason, who again showed what team riding is all about in holding off a determined Jack Kingston and nursing the rookie home was the best race of an entertaining afternoon,,Great credit to all the riders as the track became increasingly wet and slippery on the inside line... Steve Boxall was what you would expect at this level,,class...Ben Morley rode some great second turns to real off 3 straight wins before getting left at the gate in what looked like an extremly dodgy start to heat 13 ,,Luke Chessle looked back to something like the form he is capable of and young Luke Harris continues to pick up points and will im sure keep improving as the season progresses..As others have said Aaron Basby looked usefull for the Dons and could undoubtedly do a job for the kings while Benji Compton is out with an injured wrist,, as RR is ,not working well in this instance,,and maybe beyond if the averages fit ....Congratulations to everyone involved, in getting through the meeting ... Result kings52_Dons38... Ben Morley 11 For Kings and Luke Bowen 10 for Dons top scored ... Edited May 27, 2014 by waco
Kent Whistle Gang
Great to see Steve Boxall back in Kings' colours. Ben Morley continues his march to bigger things, but could he have raced on in (The Whistle Gang's) heat 13? Luke Chessell and Danny Ayres have to be riders of the night though. As for David Mason - another true captain's performance. I'm convinced he's the reason Chessell believes again, and that Ayres is looking like heat leader material before the end of the season (?). On current form it's looking like it might be Luke Harris who makes way for Brandon Freemantle's return (best wishes to him and Benji Compton BTW). Interesting speculation about Baseby. He finished last season on a 4.56 average for Mildenhall. Would he come with that average? Also, what happened to Robert Branford (Coventry last year 8.53, but isn't he Australian ?) and Jake Knight (King's Lynn last season - 7.62). Good luck at Cradley. Old Crusader
What a great meeting. Had serious doubts that we would see it through but thanks to the riders and track staff etc we got all 15 heats. The team riding courtesy of David Mason was edge of your seat stuff and fantastic. Just shows you don't have to be the fastest but crafty. A few spills, hope poor Jack is ok. Can't fault him for effort but is chasing back wheels at the moment. The track looked a lot better than last year and riders could use the outside on the bends. Good to see the interest from everybody on this forum. Not sure how big the crowd was but thought it quite decent considering the weather and AJ is King looked vey smart in his Kent Kings jacket. Robert Branford, Taking a year out to earn money to upgrade his equipment races on an English Licence hence he rides in the Under 21,s indeed he won it in 2013, Jake Knight retired. Weather forecast looks bleak for tonight at Cradley, i myself am debating if i should travel up, 7 hour round trip for a rain off, aint much fun. Kent Whistle Gang
Weather forecast looks bleak for tonight at Cradley, i myself am debating if i should travel up, 7 hour round trip for a rain off, aint much fun. BBC weather shows cloudy only, right up to 20:00, then light rain for duration of meeting. Might not actually be rained off, but conditions may not be conducive to good racing. Best of luck if you decide to travel. What's your thoughts on the Baseby question?
