Scunthorpe V Peterborough (plkoc 2nd Leg) 26/5/14

Recommended Posts

Fair play to the pathers ..i thought it would be close and it was...boiled down to the panthers could make passes...Scunny didnt have a pass in them all night except a half fit Douglas

Once Boro had 2 n 4 in heat 15 it was game over

On the plus side some fantastic entertainment over the 2 legs...just how speedway should be

To be fair the odds were stacked against Panthers but happy to be proved wrong.

That was a great result, I bet Scunthorpe are kicking themselves.

If Ostergaard hadn't taken out Dryml twice Peterborough would have won.

Cracking meeting, with the highlight a brilliant heat 15 :approve:

What a fantastic meeting, great action throughout, on a very well prepared track. 2 teams full of racers, and that's what Speedway is all about. We were massive underdogs, especially without Fisher, but in the end, the lads pulled together, and rode fantastic. Top 4 did very well, Jacobs looked quicker than his points showed, as did Greenwood but there is concerns over them 2 currently. Ulrich needs a new set of wing mirrors aswell, twice messing his team mates run up, but his performance lets him off for that!

Superb food aswell, well worth the money, and maybe the EOES could take note of that!

How come no one mentions heat 10 when Scorps come over the line on a 5 -1 much to the delight of us fans. Only the ref saw an impedment some where. No one round us saw it. I had filled the prog in when the announcement come giving Klindt third place and we cant even look to a DVD to see, now that no one records our meetings. That 5.1 would have been the 4pts aggregate win needed for Scunny!.

Brilliant meeting and fantastic effort by the Panthers. Was not impressed to find out Fisher was missing when I arrived and feared the worst but rider replacement worked out well in the end. Maybe could of snuck it if we would have looked out for team mates. Good to see Ales ride well but the reserves are a worry now.

Didn't think the reserves were that bad they weren't that far off the pace , did have to chuckle at Birks and Jorgensen nearly fighting in the pits ,Jorgensen wants to thank God he ain't riding with ulrich

Maybe tongue in cheek but not sure the announcer should be trying to influence the referees decision.

The referee has the power to warn and censure the announcer if he does.

Nah.... Ully for me got that, I was sitting in the 'Grand Stand' and even though not directly in line, I'd of given that to Ostergaard.

Who cares about the aggregate win when a speedway meeting is as exciting and entertaining as this one, the last race especially when Ostergaard and Bjerre combined to keep out Douglas was a pure classic, what a pity Sky sports weren't at this one as Kelvin Tatum might have wet his pants with excitement, but as a Scunny supporter i say congratulations Peterborough!

Another heat to put in the EWR Hall of Fame (planning permission for a new extension pending).

Spot on, an absolutely great meeting and Heat 15 was just awesome. As a Peterborough fan I definitely enjoyed it ;) but any fan of any club would be very pleased to see racing of that quality. Top race circuit in my opinion.
