foreverblue
Pretty sure "we" have a agreement with Sweden as well but any Swedish riders missing a british fixture because of the Swedish league-no facility(ie Ludwig lindgren -plus swedes missing IOW in past) therefore it should be no facility for Pawlicki. Yes i think we have an agreement with Sweden too so i don't know why Lindgren wasn't given a facility but i am sure Pawlicki will get a facilty and it isn't a normal race night for Lakeside so that may have a bearing on it. E I Addio
Come on SCB, you know the Poles always come first and there's an official agreement with BSPA, and Nicholls for Pawlicki? Hardly an improvement!! Hopwood's NL fixtures were confirmed well before Poole signed him (and lakeside are riding on an 'off-race night'!) and I've never heard of Kingston. Boxall for Milik - yes a great guest there, I'll give you that!!! ?? Scott was regarded as a track specialist until his form dipped in the last few years but his present form and familiarity with the track suggests that on paper at least he is a reasonable replacement for Pawlicki. Anyone who saw the way Boxall hunted down and passed Richie Worrall in the British semi-final at Rye House, would probably agree that he can show qualities that Millikan is unlikely to show at Lakeside. A lot of people were very impressed with Boxall that night. Jack Kingston is about 17 and Lakesides best asset after Adam Ellis. Not Ellis class yet but he had been riding the track half his life and for that reason likely to better in this match than Ben Hopwood. Looked pretty quick to me at p&p . Guess all eyes will be on Dave Watt, but if he is now riding at number 1 and facing Darcy 3times we'll cut him some slack as long as he does the business against the rest of them. Darcy is pretty much unbeatable at Lakeside though and likely to go through the card. Edited May 22, 2014 by E I Addio

SCB
You mean you cant have a guest for a rider riding in Poland? If only someone knew this, say a fan. I thought Middlo was a master of his art?
Gavan
Where are Pawlicki, Milik and Hopwood? Dentist appointment, KFC for his brothers birthday and watching Britains Got Talent? Or do they have actual, genuine reasons?why when Poole go to either Lakeside or Eastbourne they have riders missing? Nicholls is more than adequate for Pawlicki round there. Milik is riding a bucking bronco so wouldn't expect him to score many and Boxhall had plenty of experience round Lakeside. In still stunned that Magic is riding! It ain't Scott Nicholls for Pawlicki now it is Kalle Katajisto.......WOW what a superb line up Poole will be tracking....NOT!!!!!!!!!.....how easy do Lakeside want to win..........Absolute farce of a meeting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!oh dear don't like to see Poole struggling. Works both ways. Last year Poole used so called 'missing' riders to win at Eastbourne but now they can't get good replacements the Poole fans are moaning! Shame

I thought Middlo was a master of his art? Don`t think that statement is 100% correct-obviously you are talking about league racing-however a recent introduction to try and avoid the fixture chaos in the past is the " international speedway calendar " -I think Tony Steele sits on the committee- this provides I believe a priority order to meetings across Europe-and can determine if a facility can be granted. looking at http://www.fim-live.com/fileadmin/alfresco/2014_Amended_International_Speedway_League_Calendar_as_per_03.03.2014.pdf it seems lakeside is above the Polish league match in this instance, so in theory Pawlicki should be at Lakeside- we all know that was never going to happen. so that is presumably why no facility in this instance. Nicholls for Pawlicki wont make much difference at LAKESIDE Milik, although a bettere rider than Boxall, seems erratic on track which is not good at Lakeside so dont see that as a weak change
SteveLyric2
Its not Nicholls now - as pointed out earlier. The Poole website initially said it was but have since updated it to Kalle Katajisto!! I assume the European Team U21 semi final in Czecho (in which Milik competes) is not an FIM meeting?? Just for good measure there are riders from both teams in the final round of the Eurosport pairs this evening! Presumably, if any rider gets injured in that meeting, then their EL team would not get a facility for tomorrow either??!
Mjolnir
Boxall and Kingston are probably pretty good guests at Lakeside in my opinion - I'm disappointed that I won't be able to see them myself on Saturday. Nicholls also wouldn't have been a bad replacement - but Katajisto weakens the Pirates, so we hopefully shouldn't have much trouble getting all 3 points. It makes sense to have Davey riding at 1 at home - let's see how the new pairings work!

marko
Bit surprised Lakeside have not called this off already as they seem hell bent on taking the moral high ground on anything in recent times even if it means they are cutting off their own noses to spite their face, is this really the same Jon Cook who was at Eastbourne? he never shy'd away from puling a few strings or taking advantage of the others misfortunes and bending rules when he was with them more often than not at the expense of Arena Essex. Think you know more than you are letting on-all UEM(FIM Europe) meetings are not recognised as meetings facilities are granted for-and as for the last point you are just being ridiculous-Is it because Poole have been knocked back with a guest for Pawlicki ? are you getting flippant in your old age !! My final point was a real question!! Of course the other potential issue for those taking part in the pairs in Sweden is will there be any travel problems getting back to the UK with it being a bank holiday weekend?? Now that's flippant!!! I think you have just described skidder down to a tee ?????? I'm not a golfer!!

screm
FURIOUS manager Neil Middleditch insisted punters were “being robbed” after Poole Pirates had their attempt to draft in Scott Nicholls as a guest blocked by speedway chiefs. The Wimborne Road outfit have been forced into three changes for tomorrow's trip to Lakeside Hammers (7.30pm) with Shamek Pawlicki racing for Leszno in Poland, Vaclav Milik on under-21 duty and new boy Ben Hopwood featuring for Stoke Potters. Rookie and Lakeside asset Jack Kingston fills Hopwood's reserve berth, while Steve Boxall, a rider with Premier League club Rye House, stands in forrMilik. But Middleditch's bug bear is over Poole's inability to bring in Belle Vue's seven-time British champion Nicholls, with Finnish rider Kalle Katajsto, who represents Plymouth in the second tier, taking his place at the last minute. The Pirates team boss, who had yet to find out the reasons behind the refusal, told the Daily Echo: “We were very disappointed not to get the guest facility and we have been punished through no fault of our own. “Lakeside will be putting on a sub-standard meeting and it is disgraceful that the public are being robbed by paying to watch what is meant to be an Elite League meeting. “People want to see the top riders on show but we have had to fill it with Premier League lads because our hands were tied.” Injured star Darcy Ward is set to race, with Middleditch expecting Poole to be back at full strength for Monday's trip to Leicester (3pm).
