Django
This isn't a Darts match!...where the dart board is always on the wall and you just need players to turn up and threw a few darts at it! You expect a speedway match to be rearranged, with less than 24 hours notice, because of a weather forecast? Whilst the 14 riders may have been notified that they are required at a location at a certain time and date, what about their travel plans ( flights?), their mechanics? Who usually have full time jobs and what about the very important track staff? You expect them to just stop what they are doing and rearrange everything at short notice because it MIGHT rain tomorrow? Do you know that speedway is run by amateurs who do their jobs because they love the sport but also have to work for a living and plan their lives around something called a fixture list? To even think you could change the fixtures around with such short notice shows that you do not understand how speedway clubs have to run their business,s. Please, consider what you are suggesting before putting it in print. Those points coupled with landlords permissions and council permission regarding planning application and medical cover - it really isn't a straightforward process I would imagine to simply swap

Arch Stanton
Those points coupled with landlords permissions and council permission regarding planning application and medical cover - it really isn't a straightforward process I would imagine to simply swap Nobody implied it would be "straightforward", it was a suggestion and certainly not a reason for someone to get their frilly knickers in a twist. The meetings are today and tomorrow, not today and Saturday so I wouldn't have thought riders, mechanics etc would fly in for today's meeting, fly back out again tonight and then fly back in for tomorrow's meeting, that would be silly. It's short notice obviously, but there's been occasions in the past where rained off meetings have been rearranged for 24 hours later. Was very unlikely to ever be an option, but I don't think it's as far fetched as made out above.

Steve Irving
Neither meeting will be happening, certainly not tonight's meeting. Still time for tomorrow's forecast to change, but change dramatically it'll have to. Edited May 21, 2014 by Steve Irving

Shale Searcher
This evenings rain is due to arrive in the Ipswich area around 7pm, this is projected rainfall at low resolution.... Is it accurate, yes sometimes, but the margins for error/metrological changes is also a factor.... All it would need for this to be inaccurate is a smallish wind change/pressure change and it may not arrive until 9pm or later........ This is a difficult one to call, might rain, might rain later than modelled... Who'd be a Weather Forecaster!!!!!! PS Poole look like escaping the rain until much later than originally modelled so should be ok....
2ndbendbeerhut
Lovely day here in Felixstowe at the moment. Just know it's going to rain around 7pm! Could we not ride this afternoon and then charge to show the meeting on Dvd later? 😝

2ndbendbeerhut
http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ says it should have been raining for last 30 mins or so and will continue for a while. However no sign of it about a mile away from Foxhall and after driving home its looks to be getting brighter! Possibly famous last words though.........
