Poole Pirates Vs Coventry Bees 21/5/2014

Recommended Posts

It makes me laugh whne people say, "dont go far enough ahead to us a TR". You drop a point, your opponents gain a points. So thats a 2 point difference. You give away two points to maybe stop 3 points. Just go all out to win!

Spot on, it just once again highlights that the TR is not as powerful in terms of pts gained as some think it is..

In the past it was much more important not to go 6 ahead at the wrong time, because the next heat could go from an expected 4-2 or 5-1 to you... to a 5-1 against.

Now just get the pts as and when you can.

As I recall, you couldn't use the TS until after heat 6. To which a team could be 24 pts behind before you can attempt to pull 4 back. With the TR you can gain 7 as soon as 10 behind. How can that not be more advantageous? Maybe I've missed something.

You could use a ts any heat after heat 4.

A tr now gives u a max 3 point gain e.g. turns a 5-1 to a 8-1.

A double ts could change a 1-5 to a 5-1 which is an eight point gain.

This h a s been explained a million times.

This meeting though was a rare occasion where the current system was more beneficial to tge trsiling ream.

Is no-one else worried about Steve Shovlar not making an appearance yet? Depression is an awful illness and shouldn't be ignored. Can someone down Dorset way check if he is okay and hasn't jumped in the nearest canal.

That look likes 2 match reports against Coventry we wont get to see the light of day.

Clearly he is someone who only gloats when they are winning.

Such fun for us when they don't! :t::rofl::t::rofl:

Thanks for the heat 4 reminder.

Apologies maths not my strong point so will need 1,000002 assistance. I was only considering a single TS (that sounds worse than intended). Surely you can't confirm the result of a race before it's run, only the permutations on offer. Whatever the maths, double points is is not marketable - it's up there with wrestling, difference being we hope to be taken seriously.

In case you haven't noticed it's over a week since Steve last posted.

It was gemini who asked the question, perhaps your post should have quoted her??

I have no interest if he posts or not, it was mentioned he was at the meeting last night. He is normally so quick with his reports (the winning ones i mean :P )

But if poole had done that we would have won.

you went from 8 to 12 up after heat 8. You'd have had to throw away 2 points (and give Coventry 2) in heats 8 or 9 to stop Coventrys TRs. You'd then have only been able to get 3-3 in heat 10 not a 4-2 (was a 4-4). Take 3 off your score, add 3 to Coventry then take off Coventrys 5 TR points. It would have been a 2 point away win.

From heat 11 on ways the Bees scored 10 more than the Pirates, so the Pirates needed to be 11 or more up after heat 11 - thus in the TR zone.

Ah....that would be when he posted Poole are run to win. Simple as that. We are a winning club and the promotion and fans demand 100% all the way. No wonder he's depressed and keeping a low profile. :D

Even a single old school tac sub ride is stronger than a double point tactical.

If only speedway were as marketable as wrestling, or should I say marketed and promoted as well.

maybe at last he has been given a ban. Very quick to run to the mods when it suits him now maybe someone had done it to him! Or simply is he doing what he always does if Poole lose and hides

If hopwood falls in heat 9 then that heat is s 3-2 as sargeant had already fallen and if we had not let them tr then they wouldnt have had the same impetus for the rest of the meeting Edited by foreverblue

but if hopwood fall s u are still 11 up? So they could have used tac ride next time out or held on for next heat. You would have needed both to fall in heat nine to avoid them getting a rac sub ride. Snd then josh g do the same in heat 10? Whereupon the 5-1 to coventry in heat 11 would still be a momentum swinger
