waiheke1
The big number 3 on Fishers back makes him a heatleader. Harris rides with a heatleader in every one of his heats. He rides against second strings twice. This means he's going to struggle to score points, whoever rides at 5 will find it harder. Almost every rider riding at #5 this season is "struggling". Weirdly Piotr Pawlicki seems to have taken to it though! Put him at 1 or 3 and he'd be scoring another point or two each meeting giving him a 7.5 average. Exactly this. The weakness in the coventry side is the lack of a third hl. Hansen struggled there too, but is scoring big as a second string. Harris's official average is around a point higher than fishers- but he will outscore fisher by well over a point in a hl role, even from the more difficult number 5 slot.
CB252
Just got back. Still elated really. Glad I was one of the 8 Bees fans that have chosen not to boycott Poole during those last few heats. One to savour in a couple of years when all we have left is memories. Stuff like this gives you a bit of faith that good things do happen occasionally!
TheSmiler
The fact Fisher and Sarjeant both scored 0 makes this even more incredible. Sort of reminded me of the classic 05-07 Bees era when they used to famously come back in the latter part of the match. If we can get Larsen to replace Fisher, this team could make the final.
speedybee
Amazing meeting. Just back home and so, so glad I went. Nights like this are few and far between. What top class entertainment, nearly every race full of incident and overtaking. Main reason I went down was that I enjoyed the A fixture so much on Sky. This one knocked the socks off it. Credit to the Pirates fans who were so generous with their applause for the Bees (Andersen booing at the end notwithstanding)... Tonight reaffirmed my faith in speedway after some dreadfully dull meetings at Brandon.
Star Fever
Not like me to speak up for Poole but those Poole fans who have posted so far have taken the defeat with remarkably good grace considering they were robbed by the ridiculous TR rule which makes a mockery of the league as a sensible or fair competition. That said, Cov's fight back shows they are a better calibre side than most people have been giving them credit for and that ability to dig deep when the chips are down is what turn teams into champions. The race for play-off places is wide open. Another one against the TR ?? Surely you remember the ridiculously unfair TacSub rule in the bad old days?? Or maybe you would prefer no tactical rules at all and one-sided meetings that are dull and unexciting??
E I Addio
Another one against the TR ?? Surely you remember the ridiculously unfair TacSub rule in the bad old days?? Or maybe you would prefer no tactical rules at all and one-sided meetings that are dull and unexciting?? I can't think of any other sport that needs anything equivalent to speedways TR rule to make it more exciting. Meetings that are dull and one -sided stay dull and one sided even when the TR is used. The. TR doesn't change the quality of the racing one iota. Should be a straight 3,2,1,0 scoring system all the time ad far as I am concerned. I don't see why a team that scores most points on the track should be defeated by the rule book, although that is not meant as a dig at Coventry. Overall I think the TR is a ridiculous rule, as do many fans.
rjsj9803
Well I didn't see that one coming thankfully I didn't walk over the road to the bookies!!! Well done Coventry, but I do question why some seem to have an addiction to hating Poole and rejoice in a rare home loss.

Gavan
I have to say a big well done to the genuine Poole fans who have all come back on here and congratulated Coventry. Pirate Nick, Dorset Delight and the rest have proved a credit to your club. Still funny how the usual ones in Starman and Lord Shovlar are silent! They will make themselves look remarkably stupid if they have any excuses apart from Janowskis form. Poole should still be top 4 but they have a few away matches coming up so could drop a few more points.

The race for play-off places is wide open. Coventry are very good away from home so far this season with 4pt wins at Swindon & Leicester, 3pt win at Poole and Point at Wolves & Brum. Only lost out to lakeside & Eastbourne (where had PL guest at no 1 & depleted team) If we can get the track at Brandon sorted so can get racing instead of gate & go then we could be scoring even more. Does worry me though that fisher is scoring 0s alot in last few meetings. Larsen would make us lot more solid

Catalan
Was a good meeting, how Poole threw that away no one will know. Congrats to the Bee's on a super win. Edited May 22, 2014 by sugarray

Same for Coventry and to an extent also Brum v Eastie last night where Eastbourne's T/R's kept the meeting alive right up to heat 15 It's one of the best rules in speedway. The only stupid part is the home teams using it.
Bagpuss
Its been well documented on here over the last few years why Ford and his club are so disliked but some of the stuff on here tonight is way over the top. People would do well to remember that Poole will almost certainly be in the shake up at the end of the season and it might be sensible to save the hardest laughs until if/when they come unstuck in the Play Offs.

People will take it for what it is and enjoy it. It's only really Bees fans that have cause to truly despise Ford which was why there were so few of us there last night. We're well aware that only one team runs the League and they will prevail, by hook or by crook, come playoff time.

TesarRacing
Good win for the Bees but it still doesn't mean their home form is going to change and until that happens I think they will struggle to finish in the play-off positions. Personally, knowing Mick Horton I think he will stick with this team. From Poole's point of view they would have won had Darcy not crashed in Heat 15. Carrying the injury must be making a massive difference to how he is able to control the bike. There must be some concern for Matt Ford though as a Poole team can usually 'carry' a couple of underperforming riders and still win reasonably comfortably. Unlike Coventry, changes on the way I would think.
