Glasgow V Workington Lc Sun 18th May 2014 @3p.m.

Well done to the Comet's deserved there win on the day and heat's 13 & 15 showing us what we are missing a good solid heat leader. As i have said on numerous occasions we are one change away from being a really useful team once Berge returns but for whatever reason that change does not look to be happening so we will just need to grin & bear it with what we have which is a pretty average team that could cause the occasional upset.

We welcome Edinburgh next week oh the Joy's really looking forward to that and the usual suspect's reminding us as if we don't already know as to how good they are and to how not very good we are maybe that change will be on the offing this week and we can try and give them a hard match for a change.

A decent match with the Comets gating being the decisive factor, or rather Glasgow's lack of gating especially in heats 13 & 15. Bach and Grajczonek were excellent even when they didn't gate though Bach's rolling start in his first ride was a shocker. Rusty was pish, Wolbert was likewise after a win in ht1 and we are really struggling without Berge. With his recuperation being open ended its time for a replacement.

By replacement I take it you mean short term till Berge is fit, though I can think of one club who would love to have the chance in signing Berge, maybe even taking him on as a club asset.

We are really struggling with r/r for Dimitri, he is capable of so much more than the points r/r scored for him today. I really feel like a change and a replacement for Dimitri is needed if we are to have any hope this season. Too many riders are consistently inconsistent and even though we are used to getting beat, it really is getting to a point where people are completely fed up with it. Well done to the Comets, the better team won.

Spot on Heather people are getting fed up with it but until our promotion decide to do something about then it is alway's to late and me personally it is other areas in the team that they should be looking at rather than Dimitri.

Surely Wolbert & Lemon should take priority we would get by with R/R if our heat leaders were producing the goods that is were the main problem lies the two i have mentioned have halved there starting averages give or take and as far a i was led to believe Dimitri was back in 4-6 weeks from last week.

The fan's deserve better than this but very rarely do we get it Can you imagine Neil McFarlane running this show there feet wouldn't touch the front mat being shown the door no I'm afraid we are too accepting off mediocrity maybe we are just to used to it now to even care.

Time & a place for your tongue in cheek post Screm the way we are feeling at the minute is probably not the best time but your wit is not lost on me just feeling a tad p1ssed off at our pretty poor team.

In Neil MacFarlanes day the club covered its costs and had plenty left over for mid season changes. Now that Christian Henry isn't coming in, are there any better replacements for Lemon or Wolbert?

Sorry couldn't resist. ;)

Seriously though it does look Glasgow could do with a team change, though you might say that about a few teams right now in the PL, and there in lies the problem, right now is there any better alternatives out there, and when you add in the fact Glasgow race on a Sunday it might make it all the more difficult to attract riders who have the chance of riding in Poland.

Yeah I agree that a change is needed, and if Dimitri is to be out for a month or more then perhaps a short term replacement for him also. Every year when this happens I always believe that the promotion will make decent changes to make us more competitive but it never happens so I won't hold out hope. It's just really frustrating seeing a team that looked like it had potential before the start of the season losing so often, such an enigma. Will see what happens before next Sunday but I doubt there will be any changes and another thumping will be on the cards. I hate being so negative but we have been putting up with this for so long.

There has to be as they have halved there starting average,s that cannot be healthy for all concerned not saying it is an easy fix but thing's cannot continue the way they have or this season could well be our last as the murmuring's i hear around me is that people couldn't really care wether the come or not now I really don't know how we fix it but if the crowd levels drop even further albeit it was pretty healthy today then were do we go from here.

Regarding Christian Henry i heard that he was taking a couple off weeks out as he was completely cheesed off at being dropped from Newcastle but was mulling over a couple off offers one being from Glasgow and he hasn't decided yet on any off the deals on the table.

Aarnio, Henry, Hall and Rosen are available, but apart from Rosen there`s hardly anything there that would quicken the pulse. Would Glasgow really go down the route of trying to get a rider from the EL to double down as Newcastle have done with Danny King recently.

In through the back door but, semi's it is and anything can happen so, let's wait and see? ;)

Seems to have been a relatively solid performance throughout tho too many e/f's for Ash would have weakened us still further at reserve than usual, certainly think that Berge was the missing link for Glasgow today, liked him when he was at Worky early doors and seems too have progressed pretty well, couldn't see us qualifying if he'd been there today, much better than 4pts? :t:

I'll take this result tho as you can only beat what's there at the time and it would have been a poor show had we not taken advantage of a misfiring Tigers team, we can improve and will probably need to to win this but, you never know, we are plenty good enough, just got to show it more often on the track!! ;)

Keep the chin up Tiggers, it wasn't that long ago that we thought we might not have you at all.
The PL would be a far lesser place without you.

Stick by your club, you've been unlucky with Berge, but a lot can happen yet throughout the season.

We will stick by our club but that's the thing, we have been "keeping our chins up" for seasons upon seasons. Apart from 2006 and 2011 we have had to watch our team getting beat consistently and have just had to put up with it. How long does it go on? Yes, we are glad to have a team but people who were once die hard fans are not even bothered about going any more, and that frightens me.

People voting with their feet is no good, and could spell the end of Glasgow Speedway which I am sure nobody wants to see. Hopefully they find the winning way on a regular bases very soon.

I really hope so, too.

Was actually a good meeting , Comets deserved the win , worked as a team and were quicker than us out of the gate . Rusty had a bad day but was not without effort and he has been one of our most consistent riders so far . Theo had one bad one but did ok after that , unfortunately Kevin is riding as a second string and not a no.1 , shows flashes but lacks consistency. Mark was much better today after his first duck , found out what was wrong with his bike after the Scunthorpe meeting and rectified it, with a better result today , thought he would have been given heat 15 . Kasper does what is asked of him , never gives up, just wish he could gate ! Anders is a revelation rode through the pain barrier and even vomited after his last heat , he is going to be in the main body of the team soon and is a joy to watch . The result would have been much closer if Dimitri had not been injuried as he had been our top scorer in 3 meetings before injury. R/R is not covering for him .Dreading next week with the Visit of the Monarchs , can't see us getting anything from that one. Just need to wait until next set of averages and see what changes can be made

I couldn't go today and from posts on here am glad I didn't.

The issue I now have is I can go next week, but do I?

Yes, I know I should support my team, etc.

But I should also support my family, and how can I justify £20+ (admission, programme, food) and fuel for an 80 mile round trip when I'm potentially not going to enjoy it?

I've always said give me a team of triers, some entertainment and I'm happy.

Well there's a few riders who, IMHO, are not trying hard enough!

With all our commitments through the week, weekends are precious time together in our house.

I'm guaranteed a good time with the wife and wee one next Sunday ...... as for Glasgow Tigers .... mmmm?

Workington were hungriest for the win today, it showed and we saw a decent match albeit the wrong result. Lemon, Thomsen and Pijper picked up some useful points but we were a rider short all afternoon and it showed as well as the underperforming Wolbert and Rusty helping out his mates ;) .

As for Edinburgh they haven't lost a match home or away all season and that's not going to change next Sunday.

I've pretty much made my mind up about next week already, i'm gonna give it a miss unless Dimitri is back. I've got a friends up from Leeds and stuff to do in the evening and the thought of watching my team get thrashed by Edinburgh again isnt that appealing.

I don't like feeling the way I do, but it's not of my making.

Dimitri riding is a factor for me too.

It's a poor show when a young newbie in the company of more experienced pros can make the difference, but that's the way it is!

It really is a sense of deja vu, after last season.

I can't help but feel there's something just not right at the club ... God do I hope I'm 100% wrong.

But I can't help but feel it.

Yes I know there is a shortage of potential replacements, and yes I know the reasons.

But certain more experienced pros in our team need to take a look in the mirror!

.... a very long, hard look!
