Just got Leon Flint's new Kevlars. Take a look, really pleased withn the exceptional finish, got them from SPEEDWAY ANARCHY, (Adrian Rymel). Should make him look as good as he rides.

Well done last night

A great service, thanks a lot Boz.

Hi again Boz,

I don't know if you can help with this, but I originally understood that because this fixture was postponed on the 27th March and then again on the 3rd April, that the result had been declared as an 18-18 draw, with each side getting 1-point.

I'm totally confused!!!

Okay Boz, forget my last posting, I've just realised that this was Final against the second Berwick team. All the Best.

Haha you're quite right Veterancub, as I had already posted to Boz some half an hour before you made your sarcastic remarks against me, I'd realised my mistake and admitted it to him.

Thanks by the way for posting the winning times, they are much appreciated.

Okay, can I ask you for your help please? It's been reported on the BSPA website, that the 2nd leg of the NJL Cup Final will double-up with the league match at Berwick on the 21st June. Obviously there was a Berwick 'A' and Berwick 'B' in the NJL Cup competition, and operated with different riders and team-manager, so does this mean that when Berwick ride their league fixtures, 'A' & 'B' will become one and utilise the services of all the riders that represented them in both groups of the cup?

That is a genuine question that I don't know the answer to, as I don't know how many riders each club are allowed to have in their squads, that's if there is a limit.

Thank you for your anticipated help.

No limit on size of squads. Berwick have that many young riders ( mainly 125cc riders) that they just about had enough riders to fill two teams but not on a regular basis. Hence Berwick A and Berwick B being represented in the KO Cup.

As we ,The NJL, feel it's all about giving the yougsters as many rides as possible, whenever possible, this appeared to be a good opportunity to field an extra team.

Berwick will pick from both squads for their league commitments.

Redcar are running a series of Challange matches using the Cleveland Bay's name which used to be the team from Middlesbrough in the days when we didn't have a Speedway track in Middlesbrough. This allows all squad members a chance of competitive rides and the chance for a few new names to get to impress for a team place.

Whilst I,m not part of the decision making on the " double up" match, I think it was to save a bit of costs on the Castleford lads having to travel to Berwick twice, remembering that Castleford also run in the MDL and are running a bit short of 500 riders willing to travel, especially on a Saturday when many other tracks run.

Didn't mean to sound sarcastic....my apologies.

Thanks for all that Veterancub, it make a bit more sense to me now. Good to see Redcar are running a series of challenge matches, it's important to keep these lads on track as much as possible.

I've now got to send the results of the King's Lynn v Stoke (MDL) meeting through to the BSPA website, so I'll thanks once again, and good night.

Regards

Mike

Mike as previously stated we had enough riders to make 2 teams and even up the cup into 2 groups of 3 not ideal i know but seemed the best thing to do for the lads. as for the a & b teams forming 1 for the league, this is correct and we will be using a rotation system for this to give the lads mamimum track time and competitive races. the league cup final double header team will be made up from the team that has rode in the cup matches for the (B) team due to unforseen circumstances i have had to use luke ruddick and kieran douglas as guests in previous matches. the team for the final night will hopefully see young ryan morris back instead of kieran douglas. i hope this helps

Many thanks for taking the time to explain that Skidder. It's great that there are so many kids about at the moment, and some of them look to have quite substantial potential too.

I hope you win the final, especially as I'm good friends with one of your clubs promoters, I'd like it for his sake too. You're all doing a wonderful job, as I think I am when I post as many full MDL results onto the forum. It's a pity that room is isn't available in the Speedway Star to give rider points/ heat details and times for these junior meetings like they used to do with 2nd half results many years ago. Surely that would be of more interest to the true British speedway supporter than having two pages of grasstrack racing.
