Lakeside V Kings Lynn 19 May El A Sky Match

Recommended Posts

Delia Wynn Jones just said there is no such thing as a problem just an opportunity :-) So here's your opportunity Rory, Robert, Nik, Niels and the Lewis, get stuck in on that stupid track and get a league point or more!!

She also said Where are You ? Lets be havin you....and add 3 eggs and and beat for 2 minutes. Cant see how that would help though. :D

She also said Makes Some More Noise!! So do it :)

Anything can happen in speedway and it probably will .............. UP THE STARS!!

Would be nice if the promotion could book a couple of reasonable guests for tonight, and also update the website to tell us what's going on :)

I guess we have to go by what it says in the EDP, dunno about LR, hopefully he's ok ............

Anyway, let's still watch it and play a little game.

Let's count how many references Shouty1 & Shouty2 make about Poole, Darcy Ward and Chris Holder - despite the fact they'll have nothing whatsoever to do with tonight's meeting.

11for Holder

15 for Ward

14 for Woffy

4 for Zagar....if he's lucky

Actually this comp might well be more entertaining than the racing ;)

In the pub I go to there is always a comment when those two mention Darcy at non Poole meetings.

Just to add that although Kings Lynn have a bit of a battle, and Rory is having a naff season to date, Lakeside is actually one of Schleiny's favourite tracks.

He told me that himself.

Gawd, I sound like KKS/Liam Gallagher (albeit, it's 100% true).

Any news on the condition of Lewis (Rose) who took a bad tumble last night? Nothing whatsoever on the KL website - which looks to be updated about as regularly as ours!

Whatever his condition I wish him well.

Would rather we go R/R tonight (as let's face it we never get anything there) and save the £££ for a guest for Kenneth on Thursday night. Had we have been at home tonight, I've no doubt that we'd have booked a guest for KB.

Just worry about what kind of psychological damage which could be done to the team when we get a battering tonight.

Any news on Lewis Rose?

I don't go along with your 'either-or' scenario, why not have guest for both meetings. This is a big match, 1st verses 2nd. The camera are there, and it would have been an ideal opportunity to make a massive statement of intent. We were to go there with 4 young riders never having ridden there, but willing to give it all. With a decent guest we could have got something from this. Batch, Kildemand, Mads, would have done far better than RR. Christ, we've had 3 weeks to sort a guest out. We could have had one arranged on standby, waiting on the KB situation.

Now we go there with no hope , like Lambs to the slaughter. Tell me, why was the three points at Brum more important than the ones at Lakeside. Why did we bother to have guests one week and the next meeting, not bother... Don't make sense to me.....

Especially when Kildemand, if available, scored 36133 at Lakeside the other week. Very strange decision.

Tonight, the King’s Lynn ‘Roger Warnes Transport’ Stars will go into their top of the table clash against Lakeside without the services of Kenneth Bjerre and Lewis Rose.

Bjerre, who broke his collarbone last month while racing against Leicester at the Norfolk Arena, is still feeling the effects of the injury and requires more time to recover. The Stars will use rider replacement for tonight’s meeting.

Reserve Rose also misses the meeting having suffered a back injury while racing at Newcastle on Sunday. The Young Brit is in need of a few days rest and it is hoped that he will take his place in the team on Thursday against Poole at the Norfolk Arena. Young Stars rider Darren Mallett steps up to the senior team to cover for Rose.

Lakeside Hammers

1. Peter Karlsson, 2. Richard Lawson, 3. Davey Watt , 4. Lewis Bridger, 5. Mikkel Bech, 6. Ben Morley, 7. Adam Ellis

King’s Lynn Stars

1. Niels-Kristian Iversen, 2. Nicklas Porsing, 3. Rory Schlein, 4. Robert Lambert, 5. Kenneth Bjerre R/R, 6. Darren Mallett (G), 7. Lewis Kerr

Taken from the Stars website. Sounds like they are hopeful of Rose being ok for Thursday, but reading between the lines not so for KB, and a Guest will be in his place. Who ?

Maybe no suitable riders were willing to take a guest booking at Lakeside. Let's face it few riders ride it well so they probably wouldn't earn that much :P

Runs for cover before the hammers of Lakeside descend

I would suggest a rider taking that booking wouldnt be after points money, just a guarantee.

I can only imagine they think they are going to lose anyway otherwise surely they would have got a guest for KB.

True and that attitude by KL is the reason why when it it comes to the play-offs Poole will have the psycological edge over Lynn . No way would Ford be turning up without a decent guest if Pawlicki had been injured 3 weeks ago.

Lynn are weakened with r/r but there is no reason for them to be completely out of contention for a point if they really get their heads down. Six rides for NKI should bring 16/17/18 points or 19/20/21 with a likely t/r. As VOR has already said, Rory makes no secret of the fact that it is one of his favourite tracks and has guested enough to know his way round. Nine points from six rides is more than possible . The other four only have to get 18 points from 18 rides and it's game on. Throw in the fact that most matches have gone down to heat 14or 15 at lakeside this year before the final league point has been decided and all things are possible. Hammers start as favourites but if KL show the sort of grit they will need to show if they are serious about the play-offs it's not beyond the realms of possibility they could get someting out of this.
