whippy
Got to laugh at all the complaining about Ellis lying on the floor yet nobody has said anything about Darren Mallett doing it. Probably because he's rubbish and nobody cares about him. Not a very nice comment at all. A lot of people do care about Darren.
g13webb
Yeah right. So stuck that as soon as the light come on he was up. He "played the game" as much as Ellis. Â Think that a bit harsh. Ellis was 2 laps into the race and at the back, laying it down was an obvious option knowing he nor Lakeside were not going to get any points. Mallet's was a completely different situation, he was forced wide at the start of the race to go into the fence and stayed down hoping for a rerun with all four back. Yeah I agree he may have stayed down but this was for his own perspective not that of the teams benefit. Â As a matter of interest I thought he was way out of his depth........and was scrapping for bits.... he battled hard but got no where..... Star Lady
Yeah right. So stuck that as soon as the light come on he was up. He "played the game" as much as Ellis. Thought the rules said if a rider hit the air fence the race had to be stopped or did I dream it? So it would make no difference if Mallett got straight up or not. pointsmeanplayoffs
Interestingly, the 'official' scorecard from the BSPA which sits on the speedwaygb.co website; http://www.speedwaygb.co/14results/lake-_0519-2014-pro.pdf has Lambert down as 'Retired' in the infamous heat 7 and not excluded which I thought he was? It was the right decision though no matter.
Fromafar
can't see any of the Lakeside boys being happy to ride with Bridger spends most of his races riding a bucking bronco, they would never know what he is going to to do next.
Star Fever
Kevin Jolly (Ippo) was the one i remember in an Old Farm Derby v Lynn. Yeah that was the first time I remember seeing that type of behaviour too, since then its become far too commonplace. At the time ofc Ippo riders were all enemies but Jolly became public enemy no1 after that and I STILL recall that incident whenever I hear his name - couldn't believe we actually signed him a few years later..... stratton
How can fellow members say that Kelvin Tatum should be ashamed of his comments when Rory Schlein cheated at Birmingham. Is it gamesmanship though? the rule now in place can most times deal with the situation i just hope all refs are consistent with this.
Gavan
How can fellow members say that Kelvin Tatum should be ashamed of his comments when Rory Schlein cheated at Birmingham. quite easily actually!! Â Tatum blatantly condoned cheating so should be ashamed. Â Havent seen the incident with Schlien but if he deliberatly stayed down its cheating end of discussion. Â Saw it happen last year with Ward against Wolves (?) layed on the track looking down the straight waiting for the red lights and wasnt even near the air fence (mallett) or under the bike a bit (Ellis). poole then got the result in the re-run. Â Kildemand i believe did it as well last season. Â Its not professional its not gamesmanship its blatant cheating. Â As said im an Ipswich fan and ashamed one of my own riders did that.
SCB
Don't think Kelvin Tatum condoned it just saying it from an ex riders point of view. Not a very nice comment at all. A lot of people do care about Darren.I think you've read the comment wrong. I'm sure his dad cares about him but nobody cares he cheated -as be did, like Ellis. Thought the rules said if a rider hit the air fence the race had to be stopped or did I dream it? So it would make no difference if Mallett got straight up or not. No such rule. Edited May 20, 2014 by SCB

Phil The Ace
Who's to say the guy that was jumping and waving as lambert was about to come of the track wasn't dancing?????? Â Does the ref know what this guy was shouting?????
The Voice Of Reason
Tatum should be ashamed of himself! Â Same old cockneys, always cheating! Â Since when has anyone born in Epsom Surrey, been within earshot of the sound of Bow Bells? Â He would have needed earholes the size of Pearson's gob!
A ORLOV
Did not see the meeting, how many times did Tatum or Pearson mention Darcy Ward ?
Star Lady
Did not see the meeting, how many times did Tatum or Pearson mention Darcy Ward ?  I may have missed it but they didn't  There was one mention of Holder. None that I heard of Woffy and none of Zagar.  There are advantages to Eurosport covering the GPs

stevebrum
Â Never let it be said that I run Karlsson down, but I have to agree that I believe it wrong, that he should be riding as a No1 for any team. He has been a wonderful ambassador for our sport for many years, and no doubt can still help many of the young riders now coming through. but a No 1 he is not. Â Davey Watt is different. I believe he could go in any team and score points. Although not of the class of Niels, Darcy, Woffy, Zager or PK, he is better than some teams have on offer. You only have to look back to last weeks Pairs Meeting to see him at his best.. No I think Watts is one of the good things about Lakeside team...... Â PK did a sterling job for you last year AS a number one, which suggest he had a better season than Watt. Watt is equally as prone to off meetings. PK has been quite inconsistent this season tho i grant you.
BWitcher
  Steady on I went to school with his dad (Dennis) who I watched riding for Boston. A tad harsh.  Just a polite word to you that Darren and father Dennis are related to the late David Nix who lost is life in 2002 at Kings Lynn riding a speedway bike doing what he liked doing best. One year before you started posting on this forum  Nearly 42700 posts made please take a look at this link and then decide.  http://www.lynnnews.co.uk/news/local/latest-local-news/rider-killed-at-speedway-meeting-1-525978   Of what relevance does that have to anything that SCB has said, absolutely none.  Try reading what he has posted again, he's even explained it for you.  Bringing the tragic death of a rider into the thread is somewhat tasteless.
