Duane
There was me thinking he's a professional speedway rider who gets 6 months off in the winter. Nah, he actually went home & worked all winter.

clambo71
If Lakeside were looking to change team - what about Martin Vaculik ? Scoring well in Sweden and Poland and NO Grand Prix this year. Martin Vaculik said on TV he would not ride in this country due to poor circuits.
E I Addio
Good rider but had his best days and wont improve with age like a good wine Daft comment. Until he went to Poole he was having one of his best seasons. That's what makes it so galling.

E I Addio
You have good days and bad days in any sport. You have good and bad days in any job but if you don't keep the customers happy it doesn't do your career prospects much good.

BWitcher
The majority of posters knew and I was 100% certain that Davey would not even get 6 I looked on bet365 and Davey was marked at 6 and I knew it was fishy. It is the same with Bjarne Pedersen around Poole far too much of a coincidence for me. Â He was marked at 6 because in case its escaped your attention, Poole are, shall we say, a slightly stronger team than Birmingham? Going up against Holder, Janowski, Pawlicki at Wimborne Road is a much tougher prospect than Skornicki, Barker, King at Birmingham (a track Watt goes well at). Â Watt is the kind of rider who throws in shocking meetings here and there and he may well have been guilty of massaging his average in prior seasons (as many are) but as I think SCB pointed out earlier, his overall record for away teams at Poole isn't too bad. I do believe he scored about 15+1 last season at Poole in a Lakeside away win??

I have posted these previously but this same 'majority' you speak of simply continue saying there is something 'fishy', without being able to show where. Can you show what scores you base your opinion on?

Yes, Davey has had a few bad meeting against Poole but they are a decent team after all. Â You look on speedwaystats.com and you'll see he's averaged around 7.50 versus Poole home and away since he left them. Â Give the guy a break and I'm not just pro-Davey as he was sublime for the Stars last night : )

gee jay
there's plenty at arlington who have doubted watts efforts seen as he then goes to poole on a lower average to help them win the league. perhaps he's already sign for next year

The Voice Of Reason
First and foremost, I would not want Davey Watt sacked; nor for him to leave Lakeside. Â However, if I had a wish-list, the following would be nice: Â 1. For Davey to ride to his true ability AWAY from home. That's where we are worryingly dropping far too many points. It's a travesty simply because (and I am honestly NOT being biased) if Watty and PK were riding to their full potential, we'd be p!ssing the league this year. Â 2. For Davey to demonstrate some kind of passion for the claret and blue - and to acknowledge our supporters. At the end of the day, to be appointed a Team Captain of any sport should be deemed the ultimate honour - it's a position where you need a leader to lead. A role whereby you fight for the cause; and demonstrate every ounce of tenacity and fight for your teammates to follow. Â Sadly, I don't see this with Davey. Away from home, I see a bloke who has a dire opening ride, before the head drops and he simply gives up. Â Conspiracy theories I don't buy into. A bloke who SOMETIMES couldn't really give a toss, is probably more the case. Â Come on Watty - make me eat my words!
HadrianDog
Knackered? Watt doesn't know the meaning of the word. During the war; my great grandfather walked from the pacific ocean to the Indian ocean barefooted while carrying 5 kilos worth of supplies in his backpack and having to carry a wounded comrade at the same time. Â Sept back then it was Lbs of supplies. The metric crap was yet to tarnish our shores.
The Voice Of Reason
Oh yes, that 'metric crap'. Â How dare these Europeans impose their confusing system onto the UK that measures units in confusing multiples of 10's. Â Now, where did I put that 5/8 inch spanner?
Vincent Vega
4 points at Belle Vue not good enough he has to move on now. If we carry on with him in the side we may scrape into the play offs in 4th spot but would get knocked out. He averages below 6.50 away from home which aint good enough. Â Cook and Vatcher wont drop him though they aint got the balls.
