Edinburgh Vs Ipswich (pl) 16/5/2014

Recommended Posts

the track was a bit iffy to start which i think caught the home boys out for the first half of the meeting. The track then settled and we rattled of 5 straight 5-1's then it was game over for the witches.

Got to feel for Aaron started of so well unbeaten by an opponent in his first 2 rides then for that awkward looking crash in his 3rd. His thigh got got on his throttle when the bike just stopped when it got caught in the fence. He has a very nasty gash right down his right thigh, it has gone all the way down to the bone hence why they thought his femur was broken. Apparently he was sitting on the track picking at bits of fat coming out his thigh and flicking it away. :D Hopefully he won't be out for to long.

Also congrats to Hawkins for finding his way to the dale. :t:

Sorry to hear that about Fox, just as he was starting to come on.

Being so far from home in his current circumstance can't be easy.

I'm sure the "speedway family" will get behind him.

Just seen the picture of the injured Fox, ouch! But got me thinking how such an injury could occur? And did the type of suit he was wearing have an influence?

Really nasty -it looks like something from a monster horror make up show!

I wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.

It's good news from Aaron Fox as he was released from hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning having had the nasty gash on his right thigh stitched.

In Aaron's own words, "They've pulled the wound back together and stitched it up." He's been told by the hospital that he sound be fit to race again in fourteen days and in typical speedway rider style, Aaron is determined to be back in action at Armadale on Friday.

Co-promoter John Campbell was pleased to have a visit from Aaron at his home on Saturday afternoon and was amazed that Aaron was able to walk from his car to the house, admittedly with some restricted movement.

Aaron said, "Initially, after the crash, I didn't have any feeling in my leg and I feared the worst but as the feeling returned and I was able to move my leg I knew I hadn't broken anything. I'll heal fairly quickly but my kevlars were not so lucky. They were cut off and now they are only good for the bucket. I'm told that there was some fundraising going on in the stadium to help me replace them and I'm very grateful for that and any help that I can get. There's some damage to the bike as well that I'll have to fix. Some bits to straighten and some to replace."

We'll update on Aaron's progress later in the week but his target at the moment is very much to be back in action on Friday.

Amazing he will be back so soon when you see the damage to his thigh.

No way I would be walking in a week let alone risking it racing!

As we all know , these guys are a different breed
