racers and royals
Trouble is the BSPA can`t win-announce the teams now(would have to been calculated at the June cut-off date of 23rd May -and some punters would have said that`s too early to reflect current form and scoring. The other alternative is wait until nearer the date-ie 23rd June cut-off and announce the next day. Which is still 3 weeks before the meeting. Arson fire
It's on tv anyway so we are just gonna watch it in Cardiff in the boozer, rather than drive across. Edited June 12, 2014 by Arson fire
CaptainAudi
What's the requirement? 8 meetings or something like that?

Which is still 3 weeks before the meeting. As the rolling averages for either month would contain meetings from 2013 then neither can really be considered a reflection of current form so makes no difference either way IMO. May as well announce the qualifiers and let them get on with promoting to the fans from those teams rather than a last minute when people have made other plans. smod
I believe you'll find the qualifiers are already known, the three riders each club's pair is to be selected from are known and we will be advised who is racing very soon. Maybe the BSPA website tomorrow, at the usual time? (Danny King won't be involved, he has raced insufficient matches).
crescent girl
Confirmed tonight: Berwick's e-newsletter tells us: Despite a few worriers (OK, moaners) when our strength-in-depth squad was first announced that without a heavy-hitter carrying a big average at No 1 we would have "no chance" of getting into the big PL events such as the Fours or the Pairs in 2014, we are happy to confirm your Bandits will indeed be involved when the ten top Premier clubs line up their best twosomes at Somerset next month, on Friday 11th, the night before the Cardiff GP! Our pair (which will be drawn from Claus, Kevin or David) will be in Group B, alongside Edinburgh, Somerset, Plymouth and Sheffield.
Marksman
So by that information, Group A will consist of Ipswich, Newcastle, Peterborough, Redcar, Workington. Newcastle still qualify without Danny King included.

george.m
Surprised Glasgow aren't included. We could have had a couple of guests.
Paulco
whats the criteria regarding meetings then??Depends on whether you're flavour of the month within the BSPA inner sanctum or not . We had Craig Watson ride in this for us one year before he had ridden a league match for us .

Nutz
Don't think reserves need to be at practice for Cardiff... Think it's down to the individual.. I know Cookie was at Somerset last year even though he was Cardiff reserve.

Phil The Ace
Cookie won't be there. I heard it from the horses mouth but that was straight after the British final. He might have had a change of heart now though

Would he risk the pairs when he has got into the biggest meeting of his career so far , surely he would be focusing on the GP the next day
