YAMYAMBANDIT
Do you still do your small sponsorship scheme Taffy? That seemed to work well. Might be an idea for Liam? Not ant more, it did work well, I passed on those ideas to 'The 2012 Group'. They do a great job in what they do, so again we should not ask them to do more. Perhaps the 'Supporters Club' should go down these lines to support the riders. If anyone wants to run it, I will tell them how I ran it, and get them on their way.
Fromafar
But the average statistic becomes ever more accurate the more data you use (think about how the denominator changes), thus rolling averages must be less susceptible to "inflation". You did indeed, and I think you are correct. If I had the cash, I would definitely back him, but I just don't have the means at the moment. Number crunching on the computer I see.I think you will find my quote regarding this seasons averages quite accurate.

Rehearsing today, the more interesting stuff! I'm sure you think the average statistic has a difference meaning in the speedway world compared to the physical world. Still, it is one thing the speedway could do without.

Correct,I judge a rider by his effort and commitment every time he is on track.which in a lot of cases bares no reflection on their average.Entertainment is the key factor.

But what system would go in place, didn't they try a grading system a few years ago which was binned after one year. I like the rolling averages they have now, yes its a bugger to work out, but far better than the month to month CMA`s they used to have which at times was nothing more than an average fiddling exercise. I agree the rilling averages are much better: more accurate if nothing else. To answer what replaces averages, I don't know. I remember thinking the reserves grading was not very good. Just sign any rider? But, then it is who has the most cash wins the league...

On the just sign any rider scenario, would it really matter if cash wins the League,it might mean that second rate riders might not be able to command big points money because they have a suitable average.Like yourself I don't know the answer but rules regarding them are certainly ruining the sport which is not taken seriously by a large number of supporters anymore and are drifting away from the sport. I can see the point you are making about second rate riders. I don't know what riders get paid, so can't really comment. On cash winning the league, it is probably already the case?
