Berwick V Ipswich (may 17)

Recommended Posts

From today's Berwick e-newsletter:

After the disappointment caused by last Saturday's unavoidable washout, we are hoping for brighter and better things this week, with your full-strength Bandits' squad aiming to maintain their 100% Premier League record against the Ipswich Witches, a team with some impressive recent Shielfield performanes on their CV.

It will be intriguing to see the clash of two of the world's brightest prospects when American starlet Gino Manzares faces our own David Bellego in heats 1 and 8. Both youngsters are their nations' qualifiers for the World U-21 Championship (each had to wriggle through a run-off at his respective qualifying round) and at 21, both are going for the title in their final year of elegibility. Two bright young things. Let's see what happens -- tapes up, as ever, at 7pm.

Yes, date wrong. Sorry -- can someone tell me how to change a topic title?

Because of work and the weather last week this will be my first Berwick meeting in three weeks, really looking forward to it, weathers set fair and should the Ipswich riders all come through tonight's meeting at Armadale then I think this could be a cracking meeting, Ipswich have a decent record at Shielfield so its time they tasted a defeat, hopefully tomorrow will be that day.

Looking forward to this after the naughty weather last week.
I fancy us to have a half decent night.

Also great to see that Kenneth Bjerre and Hans Anderson are going to be racing in the GP Qualifier.

It's all happening in Berwick!

Just came through on the Bandit's newsletter.

Well worth signing up to on their website, lots of regular updates: for example, why Claus was unable to ride at Redcar last night.

I enjoy the meeting previews too.

Well the Witches put in an excellent start and a decent end to our visit to the Monarchs to show we can be competitive anywhere.

Just need more of the same and to cut out the disasterous middle to be in the mix for a win for this one.

Sounds easy but of course pulling it off will take a big determined effort where all 7 contribute.

I think the boys can do it and will plump for a 2 point Witches win.

In the past Ipswich have had some decent results at Berwick so im expecting a good close meeting. Looking forward to seeing how Manzares performs tonight, as he has done well in his 1st season of PL.Be an ideal night for Kevin to finally get amongst the points against his former employers, Berwick to win this 49-41.

I'm looking forward to Manzares too, he seems to have made a good start to the season.

Doolan seems to have been a lot happier with his performance at Redcar, if he starts to fire, then we could be in for a very good season.

Kus seems to be getting a bit more consistent too. He's clearly a gater, be if he traps a lot, then he will not get passed a lot.

Think it is important that we continue our good start to the league and take all the points tonight.

@#*&%!!!

So close although the result is always secondary when any of the boys end up injured let alone 2.

Well done to the Bandits.
