ruffdiamond
we will never know I doubt, the PR is a shambles at the diamonds, and has been for years... Fans are treat like divvys, like mushrooms in a dark room, we don't even get to know who's riding for us from one meeting to the next.... Yet it's announced down at redcar ffs... Why can't nobody liaise with fans or media outlets. I will probably get the nerdy do gooders and those whose blind faith carries them to brough on a Sunday come what may telling me I'm out of order, but fans will vote with their feet, and without the fans the club is nothing. have you got my glasses on ???,,, n have ye calmed down yet ??? They are called fans Kenny, and there is no need to go off on one just because they support their team. You do yourself no good with those comments. They should let the fans know the Official reason why Lambert was not allowed to ride for Diamonds.I agree think King was already promised his moved before things went T*ts up. It's already been stated why Lambert can't join us, so secret society. One of the qualifications for dropping down to us was he had to have had a PL average from last year, and he didn't. OK. Fromafar BTW. In any team changes, things need to be discussed and put in place prior to the announcements of the changes. That's the way it has to be, not drop riders and then start looking for replacements that might not be available or not want to join you. montie
Its a shame George English`s howler is taking away the credit from Redcar on a fine win really--great result for the Bears as they have had some proper hammerings there in the past A 30 plus threshing not long ago i think Well done Redcar

mikebaker
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I have a lot of respect for George English. Think that the team line up was based on. Lewis Kerr improving at the same rate as Richie Worrall. Lewis Rose having the same start as Kerr did last year in his first season. Rosen to kick on, and be the clubs number 1 by June. He really impressed last year. Imo Lindgren should not have been retained. To me he is to much of an enigma. Like Kus was for us, you cannot rely on him when needed to.

My comments meant people would invariably give me stick for for my negative comments, and of course I know they are fans.... But sometimes anyone who has the audacity to say things arnt right or it's not enjoyable in any aspect is frowned upon by the majority of the speedway fraternity. sparkafag
Newcastle went down the top heavy route once before when they got their team building wrong. The year they signed Bjarne and Robson and it didn’t really work then either. Yes, it was a while ago but I think that when you sacrifice the bottom end to accommodate someone with an average in excess of 9.80 + you are asking for trouble, and a defeat to that Redcar side is trouble. Terrace Grumbler
Afternoon all, It's back to the days of sacking Grant MacDonald and Will Beveridge because (as I recall) someone couldn't count. Hopefully the team will be strengthened when King gets a PL average. But in the meantime the MC (again) hasn't done us any favours. The only positive I took from last night was that Greenwood was increasingly on the pace as the meeting wore on - I hope that he can gate and/or pass, though. I thought I'd never think twice about what to do on a Sunday evening, and holidays apart I haven't missed a meeting for a long time. Now I'm no longer sure, really, which is a pity, but there it is. (How many more times will we see Redcar this season? None may be scheduled but they and Workington appear to be on rotation and I bet they're back). The White Knight
I am SURE George will get it right. He has tried to give people what they wanted, me included, an out and out Number One - he has succeeded. The second part of the Plan went wrong - we have to accept that. However if anyone thinks that George is prepared to settle for this - you only had to look at his face last night to know different. It may be that we have to live with a Season that is not as successful as those previous - but - believe me things WILL be put right in the long term. Over the years George has been a great Manager for Newcastle - I, for one, have faith in him.

diamond@heart
Only another 10 matches 5 home 5 away then might see more changes If that is the case that is 17/7/14, by which time, wtf is the point in making changes. We will be well out of all competitions if the team continues in the same vein. I can only assume that changes made were based around getting Lambert, but what I don't understand is why did we not submit the proposed new team and when it was rejected just not go ahead with it, nobody would have been any the wiser and the promotion would have just had to apologies to DK and say we can't fit him in, he's a big lad, I'm sure he would have gotten over it. We have now dropped ourselves right in it and I can't see anyway out of it. WE are now expecting a lot from Schramm and Rose and practically expecting King to get 13-15 points a meeting. Also I spotted this on the Diamonds report from last night: The bright spark on a dismal night was the debut from new boy Danny King who soon proved that he aims to live up to his new nickname, the King of Diamonds when he took two fine wins and ac couple of seconds to hit double figures. I fail to see how his performance was a bright spark, or is that just me. I like Danny and I think he will do a great job for us and entertain home and away fans but to call his performance last night a bright spark, REALLY!!! I agree with everyone that changes had to be made but I think we have done more harm than good with these changes. One more thing that we have to sort out is the teams performance after the intervals. Whether we are 2 points up down or in the middle we completely fall apart after the interval. We seem to be fine, Jonny grades the track in the interval and we can't cope, can I make a suggestion, if the track is OK and we are beating the opposition, don't grade the track. Rant over. (prepares to be shot down) PS. On another note, I hope that Rose is OK and is not sidelined for too long. PPS. It pains me to say it but congrats to Redcar, you were the better team and fully deserved the win and I hope you kick on from this victory. Brough Diamond
I see the Kings Lynn website has Lewis Rose missing from tonight's match at Lakeside but he expects to return for their home match on Thursday. One bit of good news at least.

He is a good manager but everyone is human and I have every confidence that he will put it all right again soon.

bigcatdiary
Surely the Promotion knew the rules regarding dropping down. Apparently not, it was even mentioned in the star this week. It doesn't exactly install confidence does it.
Tsunami
Surely the Promotion knew the rules regarding dropping down. I think that is the whole point, as they plainly did not or misjudged the sentiment behind them.
