Newcastle V Redcar Pl (sun 18 May At 6.30pm)

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry everyone but I'm back online ;)

Firstly I hope Lewis Rose is ok! :(

Secondly I would like to say that I thought tonight was terrible. I know how everyone will react to this but I think further things have to be done to improve the situation at Brough Park this season. Don't know what and I don't know when. :(

I'm confused sorry. If he isn't riding PL why would you factor him in wven hypothetically. Is this a gordie thing?

Yes, you do sound very confused. We 'factor in Lambert' because he changed his mind, and wanted have a go now at PL, but it was stopped by the MC. You could have read that as it was announced, so no it is not a 'Gordie' (Geordie is supposed to be how it is spelt BTW TMW) thing, just a genuine attempt to strengthen our team but it didn't come off unfortunately.

If you bother to do your homework before insulting me (and other GEORDIES on here) you'll realise that Newcastle declared a 1-7 including both King and Lambert but it was rejected by the BSPA. My point was that the 1-7 with Lambert would have been a worthwhile change which would have strengthened the team. But (and this is the tough bit for you clearly) with no Lambert, I don't think it was a good idea to go ahead and they should have left the team as it was......

But surely you check that Lambert is clear to ride in PL before you announce changes, when promoters don't know the rules it shows the state the sport is in.It is obvious that Newcastle had a deal with King done and dusted and were caught out.IMO King Definately manipulated his move to Diamonds. It is a pity the the Diamonds sacked the wrong riders though.

I think we sacked the wrong Swede. What us happened to lindgren's gating technique? He now lifts his front wheel two feet of the ground every single time. Frustrating to say the least.

It was interesting to see in the aborted Swedish League match on Eurosport last Tuesday that both Lingren and Rosen were down to race- Lingren at reserve and Rosen in main body. Thought the same as you at that point.

Fair enough I stand corrected. My apologies. Sounds like a bit of an oversight by George who to be fair seems quite a switched on bloke. Mind you it wouldn't be the 1st tome that something has been agreed in principle then backtracked

george isn't daft though, far from it as has been proven over the years, so something is a very grey area..... Or maybe George wasn't behind it?? We have 3 promoters at Newcastle, are they all singing from the same sheet??....unless they tell us we will never know..

Have to say tonight was a disgrace we cannot carry what is effectively 3 reserves, lingren should be doing better as all the riders need to be on song..we got 60points against redcar with the old team..

Can't believe a guy who is on the management committee and has been in the sport so lo g can make such a huge mistake over the Lambert saga surely it was checked out first???? And if they couldn't make the planned changes why make them at all and make us weaker

You may have a point there as the whole episode seemed badly co ordinated.

Regardless someone has made a huge gaff and after all they are all part of the same committee, makes me wonder if they have promised king a team place and now have to go with it

They should let the fans know the Official reason why Lambert was not allowed to ride for Diamonds.I agree think King was already promised his moved before things went T*ts up.

we will never know I doubt, the PR is a shambles at the diamonds, and has been for years... Fans are treat like divvys, like mushrooms in a dark room, we don't even get to know who's riding for us from one meeting to the next.... Yet it's announced down at redcar ffs... Why can't nobody liaise with fans or media outlets.

I will probably get the nerdy do gooders and those whose blind faith carries them to brough on a Sunday come what may telling me I'm out of order, but fans will vote with their feet, and without the fans the club is nothing.

Awful peformance and the team will struggle to beat anybody with much stronger sides than the Bears to come. However Redcar deserved the points not their problem Diamonds are awful.

Dont like talking about rider losing jobs but if team want to avoid woodon spoon will have to make more changes to many riders in position they cant handle. Weak at reserve Schrammy good 4 point backup reserve but cant carry Greenwood, Rose not good enough for second string. This if fine with a top 3 that get 35-40 points between them like Somerset last year or Kenni,Lemo and Rene for the Diamonds 2010 side, but we dont have that either. King might be good enough but average surely has to drop Robbo and Ludvig dont win enough races to do that need a solid team to be effective.

Well, buggered if you do and buggered if you don't. In deep poo now if Rose has to miss any meetings as rr will give us no chance. hope he is okay.

Onto the changes, I accept why, but when it didn't work in full, needed a plan B. this can't be a plan B.

Had a quick look at last 5 home and away matches.

Without bonus points it looks like this

SR. 8.43

LL 6.78

CH 6.13

LK 6.00 ( only 5 home 4 away )

AR 5.82 (only 4 home and away)

LR 4.37

CS 4.20

Robbo has 6 double fig scores but none at no 1

Ludde has 5 double fig scores 3 at no 1

Christian has 2 double fig scores , none at no5.

Anton has 1double fig score at no 5

Lewis K has 2 double fig scores.

Based on this info correct decisions made on Christian and Anton, and it showed we needed a number 1.

Just feel we would have been better off soldiering on as we were until two balanced signings could be made as now we will continue to struggle.

On a separate note, we don't seem to have the same race surface as last year and it seems to favour the gaters now. A guy stood in front of the speedway office cleared off after two races after saying track was as bad as it was for the workington match and that was boring. Seriously, gone home after two heats.

See what next weekend brings.Edinburgh and Ipswich will both see a league points guarantee looming.
