Mike.Butler
i recall in 1978 Eastbourne were in trouble with the authorities after they offered half price (50p) admission to the league match against Scunthorpe as they felt that the standard of the opposition side was so weak that they would be short-changing Eagles fans by charging the normall £1 admission. They were effectively charged with bringing the sport into disrepute even though this was Scunthorpe's normal side... How times have changed.. mdmc82
As this is now a pointless meeting, I hope the bees riders use it as opportunity to get some practice and stay safe as got busy couple of weeks of speedway coming up
Sienna Ryan
As a neutral I think it is a shame this meeting couldn't have been rearranged. Speedway is meant to be about entertainment. What is going to be entertaining or rewarding about seeing a 5-1 from two established 7pt plus riders over NL riders for most of the meeting. I feel sorry for both sets of fans. Firstly Coventry because they have one of the best away forms in the league and may have got something from this if had a full team. I believe Harris wasnt originally in GP (Gollob) was when fixtures were planned. Also I feel for Eastbourne fans as although this will be a easy 3 points before a wheel has turned, they are robbed of the excitement of watching a good meeting and also the pride of the win. Gonna be huge financial loss tonight for Eastbourne. Once again its the public that come last

Woz01
I don't get your point! The situation is the same - for the sake of the fans, it should never have gone ahead last season (as I said at the time) and the same this season. Bees fans were happy to go ahead last year - Swindon's fault for accepting the fixture, why shoukd we change - blah! Blah! Blah! The reason you are running an NL rider at number is because Hans is riding in a competition that isn't recognised by the BSPA - so no facility - the same as last year when he wasn't at KL for Swindon. As for the Aussie select of track experts - they weren't that expert because Swindon lost Its a slightly different situation as it was Gp qualifiers that Swindon ( and Coventry) were missing riders for. The dates for that were already known in advance, the SEC qualifying dates were announced after the release of fixtures. Not sure about timelines with Bomber and his late gp inclusion. As I said with Coventry last season the home team shouldnt have to cancel a meeting just because the away side can only track a weakened side, its not their fault. Who would cancel when there is a guaranteed 3 points and avoid a fixture pile up at the end of the season where they may have to race on a non race night. Coventry on plenty of occasions have rode home meetings severely depleted, its the planning of the fixtures over the whole of British Speedway that needs looking at. mdmc82
Lots of humour on twitter of fans of other teams posting about getting to Eastbourne if you want to see 7pt riders against NL or Advertising meeting as Eastbourne Vs Coventry Storm lol Guess the only way this fixture can be looked at is with humour. Shame when with both teams true line ups it could have been a closely fought battle. Guess we will never know what the result would have been. On a plus there is Speedway GP tonight, looking forward to that plus BBQ Edited May 17, 2014 by mdmc82
Sienna Ryan
I agree for some Eastbourne fans, its win at all cost but not all. There are Eastbourne fans on twitter that have stated that this fixture is an embarrassment to them and also the way Trevor Was boasting about booking Bridger first when against a heavily weakened team. They would rather have some entertainment rather than predictive boring races. Do agree though that its a shame fans won't get to see a true reflection of what the result could have been as think this could have gone either way with full teams Edited May 17, 2014 by Sienna Ryan

mdmc82
At least on bet365 it will save people from wasting money on this fixture. Eastbourne struggle for attendance as it is so putting on this depleted fixture at same time as FA cup final, SGP and now with it being on the little window, they will be lucky to hit 100 I would rather watch paint dry. I have heard Watching Bob go round after almost every heat compared to paint drying before
Hackett
FA Cup , SGP on tv and totally depleted Bees team , I am not bothering. Not bothering with this meeting. FA Cup and SGP on tv and a Bees side that would struggle in the Premier League. Rather save my money. If I fancy having a look I will bet a £1 on Bet365 No coupons on Bet365 yet .... only SGP and SWC ...
Jacques
I wouldn't even go to this, if it was free admission. More fool those that are paying to watch it. I won't be watching the stream either. Anyway, good luck Bees..
ruckerroo
30 quid juice , 17 quid entry , nicker car park , 50 bob programme. All to watch a complete non event , no thanks . I pencilled this in as an attractive fixture, you can't blame eastbourne for running tho, blame the other mob for accepting the date, little hans hmm

stevec
I am sure Poole got find last year for fielding an under strength side. I side that I think did pretty will if a remember right. Are Coventry getting a fine for this. I* hope not but surely this is more under strength than Poole's team was.
