Birmingham V Kings Lynn Select Thurs 15th May

Recommended Posts

Nasty incident tonight with Sqora, fingers crossed its nothing too bad. At first it looked a lot worse with his head seeming to hit the deck but according to the announcer muscle damage only. Best wishes to our stand out rider do far this season.

Onto the meeting, Barker needs to be the next to be shown the door. Offers nothing at 5 and was struggling at second string. The choice apparently is between him and Nermark, if Birmingham want to be capable of winning meetings then it has to be Barker to go.

Covatti tries but I feel Kennett would've offered more as a second string with the opportunity of facing the reserves. It appears the only reason for this switch was to allow King to fulfil his Speedway ambition of doubling down.

A note of massive appreciation goes to young Robert Lambert. This lad is something special and with the right backing could go to the top. No fear, no respect and at times, very quick. Second time to Perry Barr this year and both times very impressive.

Good job Lynn's Danish contingent were absent tonight otherwise it could've been a mauling. Watt and Nicholls did enough to cover but NKI and Bjerre would've had another field day.

Poor crowd tonight too despite the offer available.

I have to agree with Alan Boon here whilst promoters are not too willing to short change their supporters by forcing opposition teams to do fixtures with loads of guests they deserve poor attendances.

Complete own goal for Brum, lost at home, poor crowd and lost one of their best riders to injury.

Considering that last year Brum sent out a select side at least twice, and on these occasions the opposition refused to change the fixtures!

and a few years back in the Prem Lge KL v Brum..... KL suffering injuries..rather than face Brum conveniently had a flood light failure ... Pot, Kettle, Black etc..... how sporting of them!!!!

Skornichi deserves injury as retribution for Brum not rearranging the fixture? is that what you are suggesting?

We'll feck off the forum tony and write on a forum you are interested.....

Why does this forum attract so many speedway haters... nothing good to say about it. always negative, grinding the sport down

Why dont they Sod off... and leave us speedway lovers to our sport.... This forum is not titled "The Anti Speedway Forum"

As for the match....

Brum on a 5-1 and.....very unsporting of Roo boy to lay it down in ht 5 and get up as soon as the red light came on...Jack Lee said sarcastically, Schlein decided to sit on his Bum!

Nico lost his steel shoe again..... and he need to sort his gating out...

It was obvious to me that Barkers bikes are down on speed.

We need a big hitter ... strength in depth aint no good in this format. although I would like Doyle... pitty the management upset him last year.

I reckon we should dump Nermark..... as I noted last time he rode for us, he has a habit of going backwards when faced with the big boys...

Why does every one keep on this being a Budget team ... every Brum team since the reopening has been a budget team.... whats new

Seems crazy to me that teams can't call meetings off within a certain time frame if they have a damn good reason to do so, makes sense ie if 3 of their team is unavailable through no fault of their own!

It seems you can call a meeting off anytime you want, just ask Poole!

Why isn't Tony allowed to express his opinion, it's a perfectly valid one. And if he lingers on the forum maybe he'll retain a degree of interest in the sport and maybe one day return. But no, let's tell him to eff off and hope he loses all the contact with the sport - great idea.

And was the 2010 team on a tight budget? In fact, can you tell me which team from the PL days was a 'budget team'? True, I daresay every year we could have spent more, but isn't that always the case? And maybe if we had we'd have gone out of business some time ago and saved ourselves the torment of this season. I like your thinking. Still, if your in doubt you can always fire off Tony Mole an email and ask him how much profit he was raking in during his time in charge - or Patchett, or Phillips.
