coventrybob
I first went to see the Bees in 1951 or 1952--principally because of the fireworks. The match was Coventry v London for whom Split Waterman rode. The Bees riders I remember were Stan Williams,Vic Emms,Les Hewitt,Charlie New, Peter Brough,Jim Lightfoot and Derrick Tailby. There were 8 riders in the team but I can't remember the 8th. Does anyone know? I fell in love with speedway that night.

Gemini
Did you ever see him on television, Gem? If you did you will know why he was on radio! Yes I did. If he went on Britain's Got Talent these days David Walliams would probably put him through to the final.

It was good the way he (Peter Brough) used to use his hand to cover his mouth. Most definitely a Radio asset.
