springdale
This Doubling up crap is ruining the PL now,how can you expect fans to keep interest in the sport when you know that half you team is missing vital fixtures.(said as a neutral) I quite agree, as another neutral
jenga
rebels fans are claiming this to be an AWESOME nights work. you only scored 8 (eight) points at ota than we did at worky against the rebs. so does that make workys win against the rebs at S.P. AWESOME as well.

AWESOME as well. Pardon, we also scored 8 more at Worky than you did at the OTA making it 16 overall, and also without our No 1 rider who the week before banged in a 15 point max. Josh scored 32 of Workys total of 82 points from 12 starts. Against many peoples favourites for this years title I`d say we were pretty awesome last night, not sure the same can be said for the Comets. However one swallow don`t make a summer and I expect the Comets to be there or there abouts at the sharp end.

Two men showed up the rest obviously didn't, had a quick look at the scorers on updates and as I had suspected Somerset had no stand out performer just solid all the way through the team!! From track side, Ollie Allen was the stand out rider for the home side, fast and used the 1st / 2nd bends to good effect. Only Josh showed up for the Comets, Kyle scored a few but chose some poor lines at times and didn't look fast enough. No slur intended OldS, stand out for me is on the basis of 5 rides, 5 wins no one comes close type of performance, Somerset had each rider within a much of a muchness of each other hence, solid throughout and that's what won it for them..... apart from the obvious? Sad to say my pre season prediction that the comets would win nothing is proving right. You need one of your reserves to have a break through season and with Ashley just showing very slow progress but at least it is progress. Our other reserve is only going one way and that's backwards. The comets will win nothing as long as Chris Mills is in the team no potential at all he is finished and last nights 0 0 0 0 would be the final straw for me after his performance's at Newcastle Berwick and Edinburgh. He has bought new equipment but it's made no difference at all still at the back still breaking down. Time to give a young rider a chance who at least has a chance to improve. And don't mention he is a nice guy we know he is but I'm talking about riding a speedway bike. Got to agree GM, we are not performing all together as we had hoped nor improving fast enough, maybe the next few weeks will see something more positive when we can maintain our "full" side for a while, if not then I'm afraid that the whiff of all previous Comets sides will be back to haunt us, no improvement and lack of decisive action early enough will bring another blank season from what promised to be a good one, we'll see!! oldswindonsupporter
Lord Lucan - deciding the star performers from the updates and their scores is probably not quite as good as seeing things for real! For the record OA could have easily been in heat 15, he wasn't so on the basis of the performance from 4 rides, he was a star performer and on that performance, providing he stays injury free, he is going to be an astute signing - as others have said, Garry May deserves credit for putting this group of seven together. I'd say the Rebels were more than solid, all won races, guest apart, OA won the most, in terms of race wins / rides, OA still comes out on top. On last night's showing, I would think Chris Mills days are numbered. Lewis Rose just wasn't competitive at all. Rebels outscored their fellow reserves by paid 17 to 1 and that is a very accurate statistic as to how superior the Rebels were in that department. O.S.S., In a situation such as last nights encounter it's my belief that another good measure of a teams superiority is the number of last places, or more to the point, lack of them, they run..............I think in this area, Rebels 2 and Comets 13 also tells its own story Edited May 10, 2014 by womble53

Quite agree with you OSS, 400 miles and my job gave you a distinct advantage in that department, figures can be deceiving same can also be said to the Rebels fans who thought their Ht Leaders were rubbish at DP? Reserve pairing did let us down substantially in comparison but I disagree that Mills days are numbered, getting rid of riders who underperform is not in the DNA of Comets management, we've suffered many times and not just at reserve with this lack of progress from certain areas and I'm sure it has cost us in recent times? Think Mills will get an extended run during the league campaign to see how things develop, the new machinery was supposed to herald a new start for him this year but unfortunately that is not happening in the way I'm sure he too would have hoped, especially away from DP? If replacements were to be sought then I would have had half an eye on the U21,s semi at Leicester tonight, Howarth/Morris in that so who better to ask if they saw any talent that could prove useful, don't ask, don't get? Would like to think that we can bounce back and make progress in the League but as has been said already, this culling of riders for EL matches instead of PL matches could be very troublesome, 4 riders come under that cloud for us and it "could" become significant later on!!
