greyhoundp
BARRY doesn't need any publicity and probably the answer to most of the questions above is yes YOU have no evidence, and nor do I, as to whether or not the introduction of dirt deflectors has added to or detracted from attendance numbers. As to your second point about safety, there are plenty, including riders, who beg to differ. As in most things in life, there are two sides to an argument so let's leave it at that. No evidence that Dirt Deflectors has added or Detracted to supporter numbers, but what is undeniable Is that the Sport in the UK is on its backside, and something drastic HAS to be done to save it, reducing costs which would be passed on at the gate would be one area to begin. THE DEAN MACHINE
As in most things in life, there are two sides to an argument so let's leave it at that. and there is speedways problem nobody challenges anything. Speedway is littered with bad ideas and they get steam rolled in unchallenged but much like the GP's i am not suprised you will not take up the challenge in your magazine (of which i do buy) because you dont want to upset your mates
BWitcher
BARRY doesn't need any publicity and probably the answer to most of the questions above is yes Don't you think this is quite a major issue then? You're alleging there is widespread cheating taking place throughout the sport.. and even worse that authorities are turning a blind eye towards it? As I am sure you will well remember, Wolverhampton Speedway were emailed at the time of the allegations that Briggs made and the reply was quite adamant that the correct checks were made. We were promised a further story on this topic in the Speedway Star, I don't ever remember it appearing? Surely it is quite a major one, given the significant advantages that Briggs claims are gained by the illegal fitting of the dirt deflectors. Shale Searcher
What are these cheating allegations? I know I have had to ask the odd rider to lower his dirt deflector to the regulation height, they have always complied, I have also seen some woefully worn dirt deflector flaps....
