What Makes The Perfect Race Track, And Why?

Recommended Posts

IMO what is wrong these days is fast powerful bikes on small tracks ,what makes a great race is four equally match riders on manageable bikes that won't spit them off given half a chance. This IMO gives riders the ability to race each other more rather than riding in fear of a machine that almost has a mind of it's own.

So, are we saying it's the bikes? I suppose in a riders eyes, winning races is all that matters...... and if you have 4 guys all wanting to win races, you should get decent racing? But we don't, a lot of the time..

So, we won't ever regress to uprights, so what can be done with the modern laydown that could improve things, without costing fortunes?

They could try scrapping the things.

But that's just silly! Couldn't bikes be standardised/made equal, untouched by tuners (at least for league racing) let the GP boys go tune mad and exotic material-tastic!!

Wouldn't that make league racing better?

Bikes faster on Eurosport.

Basically because the Bikes today are too fast for the Tracks that they are expected to race on.

Just my opinion.

It didn't - it's a Forum standing Joke from a while back. :) :)

That's naughty TWK!

You just want to keep the UK's best kept secret to yourself.

A superb team and track for those of us in the know!

The perfect race happens in two weeks time . Edinburgh roll up at Ashfield boasting a 15 meeting unbeaten run , or something like that , heat 15 sees Kevin Wolbert and Rusty Harrison line up against The Blessed Cookie and The Golden Child . The scores are level at 42-42

The Grand Monarch is reffing and Cook gets away with his usual roller and gets a good lead . Kevin and Rusty are in hot pursuit while the Golden Child is doing his maths homework at the back . A draw looks the likeliest outcome until the two brave Tigers do a pincer movement over the blessed one and fly past on the back straight in the last lap , sparking much joy as we cross the line for a match winning 5-1 . Paulco orders a taxi from the track 3 hours later

Was watching a Danish match on the net last week, it was raining nearly all the time but they kept racing with no probs seemingly, how? Gotta be the surface, not rock hard like the majority of our multi use tracks, so the rain soaked in and racing continued? I think NKI got the track record to boot!
