stevebrum
Woffy is a one hit wonder How KKS. So juvenile.
stevebrum
I am not KKS and I feel Woffy is a one trick pony for many reasons 1. Woffy has the same crew around him as last year. 2. Woffy has the same bikes and same equipment as last year. 3. Woffy rode with soo many injuries last season. Therefore if you put those comments together the reason for Woffy's poor form is pressure. Last season Woffy was not expected to do anything in the GP's now this year he is expected to score double figures In Britain, Poland, Sweden and the GP's in every meeting and there is just too much pressure on Woffy's shoulders. That`s your opinion on what is up with Woffy. Doesn't make it right. It could be several things but its obvious to anyone watching him what the problem is. Tai hasn't performed like this before so hardly a one trick pony. You don't become best in your sport be being a one trick pony. By your own description the likes of Ward and Sayfutdinov are no trick ponies because they haven't yet won a title.
david2905
Do you really think Kennett would continue to average 3 as a second string? When was the last time he had a significant improvement in his average and performances ?, Eddies been on a downward slope for 2 years or more now, ask Coventry and Swindon, if he was that good why was he the proverbial last item on the shelf in winter ?.
stevebrum
I kind of agree steve but we have to remember in any sport when you become world champion it is life changing with all the media and interviews etc. I am a Woffy fan I hope more than anyone we can see Woffy turn this around. You are a woffy fan? Don`t sound it to me. Tai has been superb for the Sport with the media. Of course winning the World title is life changing, he has already proved he isn't a trick pony because of it. Time will tell if and when Tai reveals if there are other issues to this season so far. The rest is speculation.
david2905
Riders goes up and down all the time, but I'm baffled by how Danny King can suddenly go from Lee Smart to Jason Crump, what on earth changed there ?.
david2905
Tbh I feel Kennett would score well as a second string but I agree with your comment about Eddie being on a downward slope for the last 2 years. Possibly, but we signed Nermark and Scornicki for those roles, and they are more than meeting expectation, Barker & King have a reliable history at Brum so it was always going to be Kennett to go first if he didn't perform. What I'm trying to say is we have riders in the 6 point area catered for, we need higher and lower averaged ones really as I believe a well balanced side doesn't suit this new format anywhere as near as much as a top heavy one.
BWitcher
I heard Peter Adams comments about Piotr on BBC WM. I agree with the comment about Ricky. Then there's no excuse for your comments on this thread then... to think I gave you the benefit of the doubt! Honestly I am just winds me up that Piotr gets the blame for the poor performances from Woffy and yes Tai has been great with the media. Still after its all been explained.. you don't seem to get it Edited May 8, 2014 by BWitcher

Im no kennett fan what ive said is I think he would average 6 plus as a second string. Being "that good" doesnt mean you will be in hot demand Possibly, but we signed Nermark and Scornicki for those roles, and they are more than meeting expectation, Barker & King have a reliable history at Brum so it was always going to be Kennett to go first if he didn't perform. Kennett and barker were always going to struggle under the new format. Dtopping kennett now his average has dropped wiyhout giving a chsnce at second string seems a bad move unless the extrs points are put to good use.Under tge new format a 9 rider and a 3 were always likeky to be much better thsn two six pointers (l a mbert and nki v kennett and barker fir example). But the reason brum built their team was surely down to finances. Not sure enough has changed for the m to now upgrade king to a pedersrn or emil, even if they could attract such s rider. fish keeper
Change in the riding order might help put Piotr out in heat 1 with Jacob and Tai at 3 with Ricky at 5 and see how it goes. Tai as never really had to ride at 1 it always been Freddy or Pk so a change may be what he needs.
dump that clutch
shocking result for the wolves.... should have been a big 4 pointer last night. What happened to Danny King.... a preverbial rocket was placed somewhere and by the looks of it it worked. What's wrong with Tai, by taking those curtain rings out of his ears the drag is obviously slowing him down.... Could be a long season for the wolves in 2014.... just like us. krompa
Tai Woffinden's hectic schedule surely was enough for him yesterday. On Sunday good score in Poland with last heat big crash with Nicki P. Monday morning physio and travel to UK and again not that bad performance against strong Poole side (heat 15 was disaster in terms of mistakes from him, lack of confidence was clearly visible when Pawlicki attacked from the back). Airport and plane to Sweden on Tuesday and again very solid match. And finally Wednesday back in UK when in my opinion he was simply exhausted. Heat 13 good example. Off best gate (1), missed the start completely and not able to catch Skora. And I'm sure if he was fine in terms of match fitness, Adams would have put him in last heat decider. All in all I think Tai is slowly getting better (still far from top form both him and machinery) and lad needs support rather then critics now. Come on Woffy! Get some rest on Thursday and show us how good you are on Friday (Lakeside) and Saturday (Czestochowa). It will not get much easier with more meetings on Monday (UK) and Tuesday (Sweden) but at least you got Sunday free!

Hope he gets his bum into gear for Cardiff otherwise we will have little to cheer about Not much different I believe but surely Nickis foul on Sunday had some impact on Tai's fitness and with all travel in last 4 days I can imagine he was very tired. He is only a human, not a machine.

He is only a human, not a machine. Tired or not, Tai is definitely lacking something? He said that he knows what it is and only he can do something about it ? (at the last Grand Prix). I wish him all the best and hope he turns it around! May be with all the injuries he's had and still having, it's affecting his strict training/diet regime? As he threw everything in to it last year and was the consumate professional on and off the track!
brianbuck
The poster who has criticised Danny King for "leaving" Nico Covatti when they were on a 5-1 in heat 8 obviously isn't aware that Nico lost his steel shoe after only two laps and had to slow down, so Danny really had no option but to get clear rather than risk having Ricky Wells get past both of them. Mention of Wells obliges me to say that this was the best I have seen him ride at Perry Barr and having also seen most of the Wolves home matches, I would suggest that his is a candidate for being the most improved rider of the season. I always saw him as a bit of a "plodder" in the past, but I think he deserves my apology for that!
