Jayne
Buxton's first home meeting of the season sees a full afternoon of action. First up is the NL match against the Potters who have high hopes of continuing their success from the previous night against Kent. For the Hitmen it will be a home debut for Sean Phillips, Stefan Farnaby and Adam Extance. We will also see the first defence of the Bronze Helmet from Ben Wilson against the top scoring Hitman. Finally the action finishes with Buxton's first ever MDL match against the Spitfires. Racing starts at 3pm as usual.
Prior Bandit
Liam Carr was flying at Berwick last night after vissing has helped him with set up. Stefan farnaby is looking like he will become a decent rider. Good luck for today Buxton.
Craftman
A very comfortable win for Stoke in front of a good crowd with only Atkins and the excellent Carr giving any resistance. Buxton fans will have to be very patient with their new team , which I'm sure will change on a number of occasions between now and the end of the season. Credit must be again given to Liam Carr who looked unbeatable until his bike issues and surely will soon be Buxtons number One. Only one small complaint, being that there was only one person on the gate which stopped a significant number from getting in on time . Maybe based on future demand , they will only need one anyway which would be a pity.
TMW
Apologies on the updates side Liam Carr didn't hit the fence and fall on the centre gree as I thought. His chain went and whipped hos leg that's why he ended up on the centre green. Also I missed thd Bronze Helmet and when I asked about it was told Carf and Wilson but it was Atkin and Wilson Topspin (on updates) Edited May 4, 2014 by TMW
vog
Not a bad meeting, but it was one that showed the unfortunate gulf in ability between the teams. For Stoke, Wilson, Armstrong and Hopwood all looked quick, and Payne and Shuttleworth chipped in with points. The stand outs based on average have to be Widman and McBain again, with Widman getting a maximum and McBain being paid for double figures. For Buxton, Carr was quick until his retirement, and given that the chain apparently whipped him, it is no surprise to see him struggle and retire out of heat 13. I assumed he had taken a knock, which would explain him not finishing the race. Atkin was Atkin, and scored 10, but he isn't the answer at number 1. Woolley impressed with a heat win, but after that the rest of the team lacked experience (Or in the case of Blacklock, just wasn't at the races. Overall, it was a professional job by Stoke, but an enjoyable meeting with good company. Sometimes, you can't ask for any more than that! speedy bill
Well Stoke should do ok this season but our lads need time to develope Tony did his best Tom to but Ryan was disappointing ,Liam did well until his chain hit him poor lad must be sore.I Think Sean Phillips need to ride in just the M D L surely Michel Neal would be a better option looks like Extance and Farnaby will need time ,talking about time we missed the first race due to it being a hold up getting in surly when a larger than normal crowd is expected it would be better to have more than one person on the entrance.i thought Jack was still going to be manager but not today are we going to get one or is Jayne expected to do everything. P T Preece
Enjoyed that dispite the dust from tne motox track drifting over, some good races and the weather was fine, got on with it well. Sad to miss the Bronze helmet, but it wasnt mentioned by the bloke in the box so thought it wasnt going to be on, left after the main event. Some of the team need time to improve and hopefully they will do that, not sure what Im doing next weekend but might come up for the Cov meeting, word of warning Jayne, Ive seen Cov storm and they look good. Still I hope the Hitmen get better and can get some wins under there belts.

I very much beg to differ Jayne , even BW agrees . I could see clearly from my position. Don't worry though , based on your team ,there won't be many queues in the future ! Jayne
Well as I was on the gate I know that there was not a queue when racing started but hey ho everyone is entitled to their opinion. As for Michael Neale he has said that he can't commit to a team due to his father's work. Jack was originally continuing at Buxton but has changed his mind due to the amount of work/travelling involved at Brum.

Vog is available to manage a speedway team. He has all the qualities; good knowledge of the rules, crafty, sly, utterly ruthless and encylopaedic with figures and statistics. But you cannot pay him cash as he works for Revenue and Customs!
