DIAMONDS
Is it me? ........or does Worrall look slow? He'll come good. Being only at Newcastle he kind of became a one track rider but don't worry he will soon develop a liking for Ipswich week in week out. Lord Lucan
Very good result there for Newky especially down to five riders so early on, should draw some heart outta that, tough place to get a result from Ippo?

HadrianDog
A decent meeting today that hotted up as the match wore on. Well done to the Ipswich promotion in booking two ambulances, which enabled both incidents to be sorted with minimal delays. Get well soon to both riders Glad to see we are not the only promotion to think of both rider safety-in the first instance-and spectator satisfaction. He'll come good. Being only at Newcastle he kind of became a one track rider but don't worry he will soon develop a liking for Ipswich week in week out. Got to say, as I said already on some thread, had Richie doing a number on us. Relieved he had an off day, but to Witches fans-stay with him cos he IS s..t hot. Looking at this weekend I thought two points would have been realistic knowing we lacked Anton's services. Mind you, a two point homer and a loss at Foxhall was in my thoughts. Predict this bank holiday anybody?

Baldyman
Definition of Blue groove? Where i come from its a racing line that's slick and covered in covered in tyre rubber, which would make yesterday's inside line a blue groove also, but just not quite as bad as good Fridays. Lord Lucan
Can I ask why you call Newcastle Newky, just curious? Force of habit, back in the old days heard the term used "Newky Brown" for your Ale and it's just stuck, this has also been mentioned as a descript in another post so I'm glad that it still resides as a term so, Many Thanks to that man for bringing it up/validating it's use!! thought for a minute I was being very "seventies"!!
Chewbacca
The local's don't call it Newky. Brown. It's known as Dog in the Toon itself.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
The 'blue groove' on Good Friday appeared at about heat 4 and there was very little outside it worth trying to use. On Monday it didnt appear til about heat 12 and there was a definate outside option used to good effect on a number of occaisions. That was the difference IMO. I think Mondays track prep was as good as is possible given the conditions.
DIAMONDS
It's just as easy to say that Ellis would have scored more than Perry. Overall, it's not possible up predict - on another day the same teams would serve up a different result. Richie had loaned Steve one of his engines! Anyone who was there on Good Friday will know that yesterday's inside line was not a blue groove! Not sure why you say no-one wanted to head to the outside, because there were some outside passes. Attendance definitely short of Good Friday's turnout. I know that as well but at least you had a 7 man team for most of the meeting
2ndbendbeerhut
3rd bend just as badhttp://instagram.com/p/nqTUwksHpe/http://instagram.com/p/nqTaFbsHpo/ Of the 1st set the 2nd picture was Good Friday, but not that much difference really. Just think the on monday the outside was watered more so was more use-able, several passes made there but had to keep the run going. Also maybe could have been the Witches riders were prepared for the conditions this time? Edited May 6, 2014 by 2ndbendbeerhut
Baldyman
God, if we were more prepared this time and still couldn't win against a 5 man team and against only 1 rider in a couple of races, then we really are in trouble this season. Well exactly they weren't going into the meeting "blind" so should have done a lot better!

cowboy cookie returns?
So who is worried now? Off topic but one thing that seems quite odd is that the Witches dropped down because of a lack of funds but now a local Ipswich company sponsors Darcy Ward & Chris Holder to help fund there GP team.............
2ndbendbeerhut
They not the only ones being sponsored by them though are they? (Andersen, Batchelor, Nicholls) many more in the past. Maybe its that the current promotion don't want any "help" from local sponsors as they think they know best? Maybe its because local sponsors wouldn't get value for money? Or maybe Ipswich speedway haven't enquired?
