TheScotsman
Having ignored all food outlets, based on previous experience, I thought it was an average kind of day. The racing was - average. Nothing great to write home about. Gates 3 & 4 were the places to be. So why did Panthers choose 1 & 3 in heat 15? Only Ostergaard had done anything from there and that was in the previous heat. The track was - average. Not that much in the way of passing. I'm sure the regulars can tell me the facts, but there appears to be a bit more banking on turn 2 - is this correct? Not that was much in the way of overtaking round the outside. At least they kept the dust down apart from on bends 3 & 4. What is the rule on tape touching with your helmet? I thought that was allowed nowadays? Bowen seemed to catch the tapes with his lid in heat 10 but was thrown out despite trying to show the ref it was his lid that touched them. And below average - the presentation. Gawd it's dull over there. Long silences, long periods with just music. No interviews. Very little announcer chat. Not good enough in this day and age, especially on a hot day. And above average - we won the 50/50 draw so ended up with a small profit to cover the costs of Rye plus Peterborough in one week!! From the Match Report PR; "the Rockets had to contend with Luke Bowen’s exclusion in Heat 10 for a start line infringement – both the Harlow Flyer’s helmet peak and his front tyre were deemed to have touched the tapes"
TheScotsman
Didn't see his tyre touch them but would have needed to see it again!! Thanks for the update.

I and those around me thought the same, as did Luke, who was considerably closer.
mudflaps
Indeed, and you never know who you will bump into with his dad. My old man saw you and said chuck a chip at him.... I said no point he already has a chip on both shoulders!!

Phil Silvers
I couldnt beleive when I arrived there was not one person queueing for Shish and Fips. That was at 1.30pm. Lens obviously trying to kepp all aspects of Rye House going downhill. You used to have to wait half an hour at times for the fish bar. Not suprised though looking at the very small tray of Maccy D style crap served up for 1.70! Len.....get yer act together. If we have to put up with a sh*t team at least get the food right....;oh and start serving draught beer again too! warm cans...eeew
westhamboy66
Sounds like bliss!Whatever you think of the Promotion the last thing we need at Rye are Kings Lynn style speakers banging out rap style rubbish music given the fact that there are now houses and flats very close by the track. Surprised the local council are not already inundated with noise complaints given the situation at MildenhallAs far as food it's rubbish, then again most sporting venues supply overpriced small portions that taste awful, why buy it? I'm not a drinker but if someone wants a drink there's a pub in the car park for Gods sake
cityrebel
The food at reading used to be quite good, but the only track i would consider buying grub now would be mildenhall.
