Baldyman
We need a few racers in our team, some struggle to pass water, and must be on the wrong part of the track to be passed that often.
Bash
Well that's a pretty poor result, not even one race winner. If Chris was disappointed after good Friday and called three of the riders in for training after this he should call all of them in for training. Totally unacceptable.
2ndbendbeerhut
Taken from www.lovespeedway24.co.uk Ipswich Witches League Cup hopes were well and truly extinguished after a hapless performance at Somerset on Friday night. It was one of the heaviest defeats the Witches have suffered since dropping into the Premier League and to add to the embarrassment, they didn’t even register one heat winner! It left Witches promoter Chris Louis fuming. “That was one of the worst Ipswich performances I have ever seen,” he said. “I could make all the excuses under the sun, but there are simply none to make. “We lacked everything, absolutely everything. “We were outgated and when we were in the race we never rode the right lines, out in the dirt. Basically we lacked bottle when we were out there. “I didn’t think when I put this team together in January it was that bad.” Asked whether he was concerned with the team, Louis added: “ On the back of this performance, yes I’m concerned.”
Najjer
We need a few racers in our team, some struggle to pass water, and must be on the wrong part of the track to be passed that often. The only rider who got in the thick of it in his final two rides was Heeps but as wide as he went, the Rebels just went that little bit wider! The score line doesn't reflect what a fantastic meeting this was, some of the races had to be seen to be believed quite frankly. However poor the Witches were, the Rebels were good, very very good in fact from 1-7. Nick Morris in a league of his own, Brady and Olly unbeaten also, as would Todd have been had Olly not fenced him sadly. Charles after needing a change of underpants when racing against Schramm, was again sublime and seems to have taken to the no.2 role like a duck to water. A special mention for Paul Starke who sadly missed out on his maximum, but was stunning and his pass on Heeps in heat 12 was out of the top drawer. Let's hope we go on and tonk Workington next weekend too!
Baldyman
Well there you go. Surely our riders know they have to be out in the dirt. We never do very well at tracks where you need to be in the dirt. We will get more stuffings at Sheffield and Berwick too
Cliffeboy
I'm not that desperate !!!! Phew Olly Allen good job you were in the points tonight , your head was for the chop next with your lot on here after last night Oh dear still trying to run Somerset somehow, how bad were your lot if Olly who has been struggling badly bangs in a paid max. Get your own house in order, win something worth winning (in the Prem) and then maybe you can have something to say worth listening to.........you got done by 40 tonight and didn`t win one race. Olly Allen will be given time to get his act together as was Shane Parker a couple of years back, if he does not he will be replaced, he is our skipper, we are the champions, he has to at least achieve his average. This is the way the club is run, we are not afraid to make changes when the need arises. It has been proved to be a successful ploy over the years. Shadders
I thought we were bad there last week, but this takes bad to a whole new level!! Reports say the attendance was well down on last year. I noticed far less than normal last week, but put it down to the poor forecast. Have the Somerset public lost interest in speedway? ColinMills
the public lost interest cos the sport is on its knees.. yes, you can all slag me off for saying it, but its an absolute joke that teams just never get the 7 riders together. Willowman
I agree with Naj, Heeps at least had a really good go in his final two rides and had 'heeps' of speed. It was clear though that he started to slow as the race went on most likely that damned wrist. But what happened to both Ritchies? Worrall was poor and let himself down falling while being shown the perimeter in 13 to claim Nick's exclusion but the ref saw through that one. Hawkins has well and truely forgotten his days at Somerset. All the Rebels deserve praise and their big pay packets but full respect to Paul Starke though who put his well deserved paid max on the line to ride in 15. This boy is going to be good. I'm much liking Pontus myself as he is a typical professional Swede, dare I say in the mould of Emil. Much sterner tests to come before getting too excited but the signs are promising. I noticed far less than normal last week, but put it down to the poor forecast. Have the Somerset public lost interest in speedway? Hardly a bumper crowd but the car park was full, so I've seen a lot less. In answer to your question, we always prosper over the summer months crowd-wise so I can't see why this year would be any different to our previous 12 years in the Premier League.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
witches cant/wont win anything again, they are nowhere near capable of lifting the league title, stevie wonder could tell you that!!Very few if any of the Witches fans on here were claiming this sude woukd be a title winning side befire a wheel was turned. Most were hoping for a play off spot (5-6) and on results so far I would say thats still about where we are. The most worrying thing for me is that we didnt seem capable of making the changes whether that be set up or approach to make the slightest difference to be more competitive let alone affect the score in any significant way. One very small positive in the comments from Rebels fans was they picked out Cam as one that did get into the mix a bit at the end. Perhaps having his Dad around will help him get his head right and get back to his true capabilities.

Halifaxtiger
Very entertaining meeting despite the score line. Ipswich were awful.............but don't take any credit away from Somerset, they were pretty much flawless. Best performance I have ever seen from Starke, and very impressed with young Kurtz as well. Big thanks to Pirate Nick
CrystalCastles
Wasn't overly impressed with the crowd, looked down on my visits in recent years. Brady was as good as i expected him to be. Pulled of some brilliant moves that demonstrated that he was really thinking about when and where to pass. Paul Starke's performance was superb, he's progressed so much since i last saw him. Both Brady & Paul's performances ensured that it was an entertaining meeting despite the scoreline. If everybody fires Somerset have a strong team.
