weatherwatcher
I know that riders are self employed, but you would think that when they had signed for a club they would at least have the decency to let the team and the fans know, what they where doing. If they planned to stop riding for the club, do they have to give the management some sort of notice or do they just, sail off into the night without a word of thank-you kiss my a**e. Makes the whole rider thing a joke if they just leave without a word, or say they are injured then go and ride for thier home club abroad. Think it will be a good job when or if ever we have enough good home grown talet that are good enough to fill all the team places over here. Then you will at least have some riders that will be worth thier salt and hopefully, make British speedway get thier foot back on the world speedway map. It seems that the foriegn riders just come over here to earn a few quick pounds in thier pockets until the home leagues start. They ought to be ashamed of calling themselves an integeral part of speedway. So if he has gone then who are you guessing will be replacing him. mrcts
A quote from Hemsleys column in tonight's Mercury "A typical speedway fan loves a trier as the quality of racing is almost as important as the actual result" Well why don't we get quality racing or any "racing" at all!
wandersome
A quote from Hemsleys column in tonight's Mercury "A typical speedway fan loves a trier as the quality of racing is almost as important as the actual result" Well why don't we get quality racing or any "racing" at all! Â You do get some peachy comments in the column. A couple of weeks ago he was saying if Jason Doyle carried on his current form he may end up another true Leicester sporting great like Gary Lineker, Martin Johnson and, oooh, i forget the other Leicester sporting great he mentioned.. can anyone remind me! jimmy jimmy
It seems to be that Ljung has only ever been on a short term contract with Leicester until Swedish league started and then said he would decide whether he wanted to continue with the UK. Â I expect that he has rode his last match for the Lions and that he will be replaced soon luckily Leicester do not have any fixtures for a couple of weeks. weatherwatcher
Kennet. A big no thanks would be far better off with Lasse. He seems to be doing good these days and is getting better by the year, also he knows his way around BP this could just be what he needs to up his game and get him into the big time. Not sure that there are that many names that could fill in this slot in the Lions team of those that are free to ride. Good do with some good news, Edited May 8, 2014 by weatherwatcher
Shale Searcher
Iinteresting that Sam Masters was wearing Peter Ljungs Lions race suit when he guested for us against Belle Vue....???? Surely they wash their own race suits? They don't hand them in after every meeting to be laundered... Do they????

Surely they wash their own race suits? They don't hand them in after every meeting to be laundered... Do they???? What's even more strange is that it fit him. So are we now looking for riders that fot into the existing race suit? rather than ability ?
flagrag
Don't read too much into Sam Mastera wearing Ljungs kevlars they just happened to be at Leicester with Ljungs mechanic. I do however expect the replacement to be Masters or Bjerre although the latter I hear would have a number of fixture clashes especially if he qualifies for the U21s at weekend and would likely be involved in the Danish team U21 so that may rule him out. justathought
I would say Masters myself. And a welcome addition he will make.
weatherwatcher
Masters may already have been given a place if the suit fits then wear it. We could do worse he has riden well, here so he could very well fit into the team

flagrag
I see that Mr Ljung himself has confirmed that he won't be back at Leicester and has suggested Anton Rosen who has just been dropped by Newcastle due to averages so they can bring in Danny King
