Shale Searcher
Anyone know any good pubs in Leicester that show Speedway on a big screen on a regular basis? Lots show the footie, but trying to find Speedway pubs is difficult... Cheers Shale Searcher
Bostonian
Think you'll struggle there mate, can't imagine many pubs will show speedway over the more mainstream sports. Best thing to do is just try find any free streams over the internet
A ORLOV
In Swindon we have a few pubs with multiple screens where they can show different sports at the same time in different areas of the pub. In the case of one pub that supporters go to they have speedway on the main screen and other sports on the other screens in the same room so that while watching speedway other channels can be seen. In the other bars they might have football or rugby on the main screen. Even though pubs where you are may concentrate on 20 blokes kicking a bag of air around, it may be worth asking any if they would show the speedway on a separate screen, and if you can get a group of fans to turn up it would help. If you have a supporters group you could try asking them if they meet anywhere where they show it.
SCB
Can't help with Leicester but the Gatehouse Tavern in the centre of Coventry shows speedway. And on the few occasions there has been a clash it's Sky plus'd and put on straight after.

Triple.H.
Just got in my local and it's already on Strange how in Sweden they raced while it was raining whereas over here the toys would've been out of the pram. Certainly looked like the Swedes are enjoying a typical British summer Edited May 7, 2014 by Triple.H.
Jonny the spud
The Houses of Parliament and the HMS victory pubs in Bordeaux show it
ancient mariner
Well, there will be less competition now that the 'kick a bag of wind' season comes to a close tomorrow. I have on a number of occasions asked if a pub (in the Bristol area) might put the speedway on and have rarely experienced issues, though it helps if you ask in advance. For instance I'll be asking about Wednesday's Stars v Robins meeting on Monday. I may just have been lucky in the past, but if you ask the worst that can happen will only be the answer 'no'. Have watched speedway at The Steam Railway, South Marston Hotel, Jovial Monk, Wheatsheaf, The New Inn, and Village Hotel in Swindon...they normally put it on if you ask them.
Harcourt Arms the Swedish pub in Marylebone London say they show Swedish sports and on their website they have a calendar showing which sports are planned to be shown cant see any speedway listed but you can also email them to ask if they could put it on. The Voice Of Reason
My local (where I am a die-hard regular) will always put it on for me and a mate in the second bar. First choice goes to Football - fair enough as the pub has quite a few Villa and West Brom fans in attendance. Suffice to say it's also a REAL pub that has regular lock-ins, and the appearance of ashtrays in one of the bars at a certain time at night. Any surprise it's one of the busiest pubs in the area........and NEVER has any trouble?
