MrMungo
Cook spoke briefly to Pawlicki when he walked back into the pits. Seemed to be more along the lines of "are you okay?" as opposed to "what's the food like here?" but obviously I can't be certain.
Starman2006
Interesting discussion. I find it interesting that someone mentioned that Cook isn't worthy of being captain of a club when they have Darcy Ward as their captain (when he's fit) - pot, kettle, black springs to mind! (And I like Darcy) Er excuse me. IMO Darcy is a far better equiped person to be Team captain, his man management skills advice and his encouragement is second to none for a lad of his age. Personally, i would have no hesitation of Darcy being Team Captain of any team. thing is mate, i see him every week, you don't.. If he did that, then fair enough There is a lot of nasty injuries going on in last few years, if incidents can be avoided they should be even if it means riders losing points. Look at Hancock he's been consistenly good for how many years yet he gives riders racing room.

He is probably the most naturally talented rider ever to ride a speedway bike but I'd be more worried about his inability to avoid injury rather than his eligibility to be captain of the century! ... and I'm not your mate

He would definetly be able to advise the youngsters in the team where to score some green from in the local area!!

A good job we're not talking about Darcy's "management skills advice and his encouragement" with regard to the fairer sex Starman eh ! As for Darcy's potential replacement surely Mr Gollob doesn't really have enough z's, k's or j's in his name.. Perhaps Tomasz Jedrzejak would 'score enough points' for the Poole 'Scrabble' Pirates.. foreverblue
He's better than all Poole's Brits......Kyle Newman and the invisible man. Fantastic!!

foreverblue
So far as Cookies rolling at the start is concerned, i think Referee's are now catching up with him Steve.Oh dear thats bad news hows he going to win races now!
Crazy robin
I never had an issue with Cook before last night other than him getting away with being a roller. Certainly I critisised his rolling but never had cause to think of his riding as being "dirty". Well my opinion changed last night, as it did for any fan in the stadium. Not only did he show disrespect by fencing a rider, but just as bad was the fact he never even bothered to go and see if the rider was OK. If I had witnessed a Poole rider act in such a way I and I should imagine every Poole fan, would have been disgusted. The sport is dangerous enough without incidents like this. Rubbish if it was a Poole rider you'd be saying something completely different & we all know that. Were you in the pits so can say that Cook never went over to him & apologised?. jimmy jimmy
I was sat in the grandstand close to 2 of Cook's sponsors who were quite frankly embarrassed by his behaviour last night!! As far as being 'professional' and 'no history of being a dirty rider' - I wonder if Ipswich fans would agree. Prior to last night I had no issues with Cook and applauded him as I do when anyone guests for Poole - BUT last night he was 'Out of Order'!! I don't have any problems with a bit of crowd gesticulation - it all adds to the atmosphere, but as someone has already said, if Nicki Pedersen had done what 'Bay City' Cook did there would be pages and pages of rightful criticism. Pedersen does it every week for Christ sake. With difficulty. Paid maximum against Poole at Kirky Lane I think you will find that Cookie's tweet was written in a jokey format, otherwise he would have writte that Pawlicki is a cheating ......, which he didnt did he. Starman2006
Paid maximum against Poole at Kirky Lane Yeh and i bet most of that was from the front, and plenty of rollers to boot..

Aces51
Another who was outraged when Hans rode for the Pirates. Never stopped complaining about how unfair it was that Poole were gaining from this blatant cheating. 😂 Edited May 8, 2014 by Aces51
jimmy jimmy
Wow wow let's calm down here. The ref made the wrong call.... It happens but let's not have the lying cheating scumbag fans from Poole painting Cook as some dirty rider. That he is not ! I agree on Cook, but you probably need to calm down too my friend If he did that, then fair enough There is a lot of nasty injuries going on in last few years, if incidents can be avoided they should be even if it means riders losing points. Look at Hancock he's been consistenly good for how many years yet he gives riders racing room. Although when Cookie makes a start like Hancock he is accused of rolling. Cook isn't a dirty rider despite what some of our more emotional friends on this forum say. When he guested for Poole earlier in the season he got catapulted over the fence and rode on for Poole rather than retiring from the meeting. Irrespective of what points he scored that night, that shows commitment to try his best.

No problem with his commitment But having listened to a few fair minded Poole fans (to get a better understanding of what happened) and they saying the move was out of order. I believe them rather than Cook as don't know him.
stevebrum
That may be because no one believes a word that you post anymore... I never had an issue with Cook before last night Your continual slating of him all this and last season proves different. You must try better jokes.
