smod
Wasn't. Expecting too much from Liam ,but thought he would be more on the pace than he is showing, puts a lot of pressure on Steen when the Heat Leaders aren't winning Heats . As I see it, Liam Carr went better for Edinburgh when scoring points for fun with Buxton boosted his confidence. Buxton's season starts on Sunday, so Berwick might reasonably expect to see his scoting picking up. It is very encouraging to see Berwick giving a local lad a chance, and hopefully Bandits' supporters will get behind his efforts.
screm
Looks like steen could be a busy man on saturday night Steen scoring has improved considerably over the last few meeting, giving Berwick a bit potency at reserve, so any extra rides we can give him can only be good news for Berwick. On Saturday night I`m sure we will see Whether and Kus taken am r/r ride with Jensen getting two. Wasn't. Expecting too much from Liam ,but thought he would be more on the pace than he is showing, puts a lot of pressure on Steen when the Heat Leaders aren't winning Heats . Agree, we cant be carrying riders, been there, done that, it doesn't work. However I understand that Carr has newer equipment on the way which hopefully will get him back in the points which will be good news for him and more importantly the team. Robinh88
If we fancy it home win by about 20 points Stead walked to a 15 point maximum last season. Don't think he will have it so easy this time

I constantly said over the winter, Liam would need better gear than he had. It looks like that might happen soon, so please stick with the lad, your patience will pay off.

If new engine suits him, should be more up to the pace, also the rest of the team are taking him under their wing especially Vissing.
screm
As Berwick prepare to take on Sheffield in the KO Cup this weekend, it has been revealed that Liam carr is to get a helping hand with his equipment. AsBandits’ director George Hepburn says Claus Vissing is planning to help the local teenager, who is making his debut PL season with his home-town club. “Claus plans to have a look at Liam’s set-up this coming week,” said Hepburn. “He is going to swap his engines over so hopefully we should see an improvement in his scoring.” Carr drew a blank from four starts against the Diamonds, but Hepburn said: “We knew this would be a learning curve for Liam, but he is not far away and we have always said we will give him time to find his feet.” The Bandits race at Sheffield on Thursday with the return at Shielfield on Saturday and Hepburn says he is confident they can win through to meet Edinburgh in the next round. “I think that if we can keep it reasonably close in the away leg we have a chance on aggregate,” he said. Berwick will be without David Bellego for the home leg of the tie as he is away racing in a World U21 qualifier and rider replacement will operate. Meanwhile, Hepburn is predicting a big year for the club’s winter signing Claus Vissing. The Dane has been in fine form since the start of the season, and an 11+1 paid maximum in his opening Premier League meeting against Newcastle on Saturday was his third ‘full house’ at Shielfield in 2014. “I don’t think there will be many riders beating Claus around Shielfield this season,” said Hepburn. “The track is prepared with all the riders in mind, but Claus in particular revels in the way it is set up.”

freddyfivetoes
How can the Management Committee justify giving Sheffield a facility for this meeting?
Heedthebaw
How can the Management Committee justify giving Sheffield a facility for this meeting? I was at Edinburgh last night and the word was that Sheffield will be using R/R for Ty Proctor ! ?? Who according to the BSPA website is NOT in their declared 1 to 7 and most certainly has never ridden for them ! How is this possible ? SPEEDWAY UNDER THE CURRENT LEADERSHIP IS A JOKE if this is allowed to happen, totally against the rules as far as i can see, No wonder supporters are walking away from our once great sport
The Third Man
As proctor was due to ride on Thursday I would assume he is in the declared 1 - 7 so would it have been alright to use rr for him if Thursdays meeting had been run? it isn't using rr for proctor tonight that's putting me off attending speedway, its the fact that a rider can ride for two teams on the same night I cant understand if a team signs a rider that already rides for another team then there should be no facility for him when he is riding for his other team, then the problem about rr tonight would not be a problem anyway
smod
From the 2014 Speedway Regulations: Rule 16.5.3 No facility is permitted to replace a rider, who although included in a re-declaration has not made an appearance for that team since being re-declared. From Berwick's Newsletter this morning: The Tigers have been granted a facility by the BSPA Management Committee to deploy the rider-replacement regulation for Australian Ty Proctor, who is unavailable to them. On what possible grounds? Which of the Management Committee decided that -- seems at least a couple of them have vested interests in the situation. Ned Kelly 41
Proctor would NOT have made his debut as a Tiger, according to my information. His inclusion in the Tigers' 1-7 was NOT approved in time for Thursday night.
smod
There's no indication on SCB website of his being included yet. Which makes r/r even more laughable/dubious/illegal. Sheffield seem to be getting away with a very doubtful move here. Berwick must surely appeal this awful decision.
