Ned Kelly 41
Doubt it . Probably in the BSPA bunker until the flak dies down. Bloody hell, mate! You're not blaming the BSPA for this one, are you? C'mon Mr Watson, a simple answer. Elementary?

Just a suggestion as to where Mr Watson might be hiding. ( note the smiley)

Crump99
A good example of why Frost never communicated with fans. Damned if you do and damned if you don't but easier not too bother. Neil's made the effort (and I'm not saying whether I agree or not on that) but probably wishes he hadn't.
smod
I cannot believe that Peterborough Panthers have not made a statement, explaining the nature of their H&S difficulties that caused this postponement. Do they really believe people will forget? The truth, whatever it is, will out. They'd be better getting their story in first.
cyclone
Having read the public comments of the Edinburgh Promotion, it appears they were informed that the problem was not with the track and outwith the control of the Peterborough Promotion. I wonder if the two hour delay between the Showground announcing the cancellation and the subsequent confirmation by Peterborough Promotion, might have been that messrs Swales & Horton were desperately trying to have remedial H & S work carried out which would reverse the original cancellation announcement by the Showground ? me2
As one of those who travelled from the Scunthorpe meeting and booked and paid for a hotel room in Peterborough, I'm not much fussed about the reason for the call off. **** happens. It's how you deal with it, or in this case don't deal with it that's important to me. 'Sorry for the delay in informing the travelling support' would do for me. I don't want blood. I also don't want to be treated like a doormat. This isn't how you treat your customers.
arthur cross
While I'm still critical of the Panthers' handling of Tuesday's postponement and also note that it appears the track wasn't the problem, I wonder if the "health and safety" problem was that the Truckfest's action caused too much damage to the fittings for the speedway airfence. Now that airfences are compulsory throughout the Premier League, if you can't safely fit your airfence then you can't stage your meeting even if the track surface is ok. Do they really believe people will forget? The truth, whatever it is, will out. They'd be better getting their story in first. I keep seeing that the truth will out but I wouldn't put money on that. Why make a further statement which'll only give some the opportunity to increase the thread by telling everyone how it could have been avoided or quickly rectified. People will not forget but no point in pouring more fuel on the flames. I'm not defending the promotion because I'd have been angry and less than happy with the communications but time to move on. No need to get a story in first. If anyone spouts the alleged truth then it's only the truth if Peterborough agree with the version, not that they have to say anythng. We may be treated like mugs but we're all looking for our next meeting.
proud panther
Neil Watson only types what Mick Horton tells him to, so if you are looking for an explanation, you should be having a go at Mick. Personally, I think a full explanation should be forthcoming from the promotion, but i'm not holding my breath.

Dekker
As the Peterboro PR was so vague, you can only conclude they know the reason but given their dependance on the showground cant be seen to be critical of them. In fact given that the "Arena" [lol] twittered the cancellation first, it may well have been the landlords that called the match off.
arthur cross
We may be treated like mugs but we're all looking for our next meeting. You might not mind being treated like a mug. But that puts you in a small minority of speedway fans ... and an even smaller minority of the general public.
Crump99
You might not mind being treated like a mug. But that puts you in a small minority of speedway fans ... and an even smaller minority of the general public. Oh that's brightened up my day no end. "Power to the People" (Crump99, Tooting Popular Front, East of England Showground Branch) - nobody likes being treated like mugs but when did anyone in speedway take notice of what supporters really think. I'd say it's the majority in both examples you give but only the minority who'll admit it. oh, and liked by Rocketpants, that's like the nod of approval from stevebrum Edited May 9, 2014 by Crump99

SCOTLAND1314
Myself and few others were on our way to Peterborough (from Scunthorpe) and hadn't heard the meeting was off. However, one of the Edinburgh Promotion went out their way to contact us and inform us of the situation at an early stage so that we could make alternative arrangements. Hats off.

smod
Peterborough are fixtured to race Scunthorpe on Tuesday 13th. Will the "H&S" police have OK'd the Showground by then, or will the site still be contaminated, dangerous, infected, polluted or whatever?
