Peterborough Vs Edinburgh - Tues 6th May

Recommended Posts

So are we going to get told what this health and safety issue is? or are we just going to get told it's a health and safety issue and that's the end of it?

My guess would be the second one.

Panthers running scared from the mighty monarchs. :P

Maybe that is not the correct reason that Scotchopper has used but remember he is on a train on the way to peterborough, try and show alittle sympathy for the people on their way down there, wouldnt cost you much

All Neil did was correct an inaccurate post which seemed fair enough. Scotchopper's second post is better and I'm sure that Peterborough Speedway didn't call the meeting off without good reason. H&S is a broad brush these days and if it was explained further then people would still argue the toss anyway. The days of running amongst other events (The EoE show, Expo Steam, BMF etc) are long gone at the shrinking EoES. It only takes a slight graze these days for the intelligencia to reach for the no win no fee hotline. What I would agree with is "If it's always bad after Truckfest, why the hell was a speedway fixture scheduled for the next day?" as potentially a mess is what's left or is being cleared up.

petergugger running scared. e/burgh would have had 12 on the bounce.

Ever visited planet earth?

Dear oh dear...and one wonders why folks are reluctant to plan and book travel around meetings anymore....once again I question why we don't have some proper governance of speedway...

these sort of things are just unacceptable in a so-called professional sport. The more often meetings are cancelled for reasons 'beyond our control' the quicker we all go down the pan...

Peterborough clearly trying to get to the front of the queue...but its crowded up there..

Very sorry for the good folk down from Edinburgh at Scunthorpe yesterday. I presume a lot of them were staying over to take this meeting in. Overnight accommodation booked for nothing.

Really good to see plenty of Monarchs fans staying on to see the Stags-Demons match, nice one!

Speedway should not have been scheduled for the day after Truckfest then.

they probably didn't envisage any problems , the track could be in perfect knick for all we know (hasn't been in the past) for all we know stall holders , fairground rides could still be scattered all over the place (not fully dismantled)

That is not the case.

PETERBOROUGH have been forced to postpone their eagerly-awaited Premier League showdown against Edinburgh tonight (Tuesday).

The East of England Showground clash has been called off due to a healthy and safety issue which is unlikely to be resolved today.

Co-promoter Trevor Swales said: "It is a very unfortunate situation and we are absolutely gutted that we cannot race tonight.

"It is no-one's fault but a health and safety issue has arisen and we don't expect to be able to rectify it in a matter of hours.

"We didn't want to find ourselves in the position of having to call off the meeting much closer to the start time."

Panthers will return to action on Sunday (May 11) when they travel to Newcastle.

So, for once, tell us what the healthy (see Panthers website), and safety issue is.

Or is it that they couldn't guarantee the safety of the Mickey Mouse Cup that the football lot were bringing

is it definitely the showground that have called it off ?

I stayed over another night to go to this match and am not impressed in the slightest.

What really sticks in my crawl is this 'due to a health and safety issue' rubbish. No explanations, no clarification, no specific reason, nothing. That's simply not good enough.

Coming hard on the heels of that fiasco at Kent yesterday I am genuinely wondering why I bother.

Because you like so many of us are a glutton for punishment in the vain hope that one day the lunatics running the asylum will manage to organise a p°°sup in a brewery subject of course to management committee approval that will be given and taken away numerous times dependent on which brewery the said p°°sup is at.

Not much going on at EOES?

clench your fists, hold you arms out in front, twist your wrists back and forth, run around blowing raspberries and dream.

It will be just like the real thing!!
