semion
If Silver doesn't get fined over this one it will just show he is above and beyond. Imagine if all Promoters were to start doing it. Hopefully a fine will stop him pulling this kind of stunt. Shadders the principle is the same.
montie
I'm amazed that we still get this outpouring of angst every time Len does this, and he does it 2 or 3 times a season. Most times he gets it right, some times he gets it wrong. In this case, the Rockets won't have a better team for the re-staging, but Scunthorpe might if Anders is back. But why call a meeting off when all forecasts showed the same as far back as thursday...if it was due to rain...fair enough...but was a nice evening forecast

ys07
Silver gets away with far too much far too often. Speedway doesn't need stunts like this so those pulling them should have the book thrown at them. No wonder the sport struggles to attract regulars.
montie
i think the timing of his call off is the key...im sure all meetings should be given a chance....especially with the forecast as it was...to call it at 8am is nothing but a pish take

Falcon Hammer
Poor Len - I think after the poor forecast and poor crowd last week against Ipswich, and the British SF this Wednesday, he knew the crowd would be extremely poor if the forecast wasn't perfect. Think he made the right call personally

Think he made the right call personally Calling off a meeting on what was a lovely day in Hoddesdon was right? The crowds will be poor either way because of current team performances! Something dramatic will have ro happen at rye to see improvements again! Was still a very poor decision IMO!

semion
Uncle Lennie thinks he is a law unto himself. Being a seasoned campaigner he thinks he can do what he likes and row locks to anyone else. Will the BSPA prove him right ?

semion
Why does someone have to have an "agenda" to make a comment on a any thread ? For your info I happen to be a Speedway fan, Kings Lynn for the moment is my closest track Edited April 27, 2014 by semion
Rockets
Was it in Lens interest to call it off? Kennet would have got a new average? Scunthorpe were there to be beaten based on their away form. He probably still has hard costs to meet like staff and first aid etc? He may have got it wrong but more often than not he gets it right. I drove up from Brighton for the Ipswich meeting and was convinced it would be off as I aqua planed the M23 but it was nt. Yes the team isn't doing well but exactly what was gained by calling this off?

Kennett will receive a new average anyway I believe, the cut off point for meetings that count had passed before Saturday. Most staff are volunteers too, not sure on first aid. Maybe Len did just get it wrong this time, did fancy going Saturday though, was annoying to see the sun out and no meeting on.
Rockets
Would roynon fit and in place of who?
westhamboy66
What with all his accidents and team moves etc i don't think Adam is quite the rider he was when he was with us, that said if he could fit in in place of Jason Bunyan i wouldn't hesitate with a fresh face replacing Simon Lambert whose time is probably up
