Bah humbug to everyone the other side of the North Sea!
iris123
Pretty good from NKI to say that.Nothing really new from a fans view, but good to have top riders come out and tell it like they see it.Is a pity Coventry seems to have gone to the dogs. What i find quite important it the part about not blaming silencers...... Phil The Ace
Great read and he is right One thing I will say though is of course kings lynn will be one of the best prepared. They have full 24/7 access to the stadium unlike 80% do clubs

Starman2006
Good write up. But perhaps he would care to elaborate on the offending tracks...
BWitcher
Good write up. But perhaps he would care to elaborate on the offending tracks... You wouldn't like that if he did He's named the 2 that don't fall into his criticism and that's Kings Lynn and Wolverhampton.

Gemini
Which just returns us once again to the question of why the promoters of Coventry Speedway are not allowed to use their own track curator and prepare the track how they would like it for the team? Daniel Smith
Here's NKI's latest edition to 'Inside Track' http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/kings-lynn-stars/inside_track_2014_world_number_three_niels_kristian_iversen_s_weekly_look_inside_the_norfolk_arena_1_3573125 The piece from this that caught my attention when talking about the new race format. Just from this, I can see it collapsing after the 1st year. Iversen says:- "All I know, for me, is that riding against better riders every week isn’t a bad thing. But you do have days when you don’t have such a good meeting. And these days when that happens you’re really going to feel it. I felt it last week against Belle Vue. It didn’t really happen for me and it’s probably the first meeting since I’ve ridden for Lynn (fourth season) that I haven’t won a race at home in a match.Last season I’d have picked something up and when you’re paid-per-point, you want to be getting as many points as you can. Had we been aware of the race format when we were signing contracts, heat leaders would have probably taken that into consideration." I can only see a further driving up of Heatleader wages which counteract the cost savings of draft riders for 2015 just from that. Opinions??? LagutaRacingFan
PUK is an international superstar, raking in thousands in Poland, Sweden and Denmark. He does what he wants, He's a rock n roll star.
Tsunami
Wow. A foreign rider complaining that he can't now get easy money for beating young kids. System is now going to collapse because of it. Slightly biased, and certainly not looking at it as being "in the best interest of British Speedway". Does he complain about the same system that works quite well in Sweden and Poland. Edited April 27, 2014 by Tsunami
Star Lady
Maybe if folk read the whole article opinions might alter a bit. At first I’d say I didn’t really think the new Fast Track Draft scheme in British speedway was a brilliant idea. But now we have started the season I’m pretty impressed with how it’s working. It’s a good way to give younger riders a chance in the Elite League and to be able to improve after moving up to that level. A similar system works well in Poland and so far I’d say it’s working well in the UK too. It’s a good idea that the reserves tend to ride against each other, and not the heat leaders. The last they thing they need is to be coming up against the ones, threes and fives on a regular basis and getting beat. That bit preceeds the quote screamer posted. I thought it was a well thought out opinion. He also says as many on here have that next season could cause problems with FTD. At least he has thought about it unlike a certain Antipodean who just says it's not good probably cos it adversely affects his countrymen Edited April 26, 2014 by Star Lady
Tom Turner
So pretty much everything I've been saying since square one but rejected consistently by BSF posters who live in a dream world. NKI has got it spot on. Rubbish tracks and diluting the sport is NOT the way forward. A comprehensive online marketing campaign first of all and then investing the money generated from the extra attendances a decent online marketing campaign will bring to improve track conditions. It's blooming obvious. And let's be realistic, an online campaign is the only campaign British Speedway can afford. It will bring in far better results than a roundabout advert (like my local club seems to think is a good idea). You'd be surprised how a little can go such a long way. Maybe promoters will step up and listen now? Not a chance! Edited April 26, 2014 by Colonel

Daniel Smith
Its a good, open, honest and balanced piece by Puk. Good for him. Absolutely, great read. The piece I highlighted I believe is relevant to talk about. It's not just the Iversen's and Ward's I'm concerned about but the likes of the Cook's, Harris's, Schlein's etc. These might be the guys looking for more dough for less points. 2015 AGM could be busy

Bet365 web streaming brings speedway to the masses on a regular basis, and earns Terry Russell t/a GoSport International Ltd a small fortune in to the bargain. Being as ALL speedway media has to be approved by Terry Russell t/a GoSport International Ltd, would you think that anything else that could detract from his little earner will ever get to see the light of day?
