Belle Vue Aces Vs Poole Pirates 28/04/2014

Recommended Posts

No reason given for Smart's absence but I heard from an unreliable sources that Middlo organised a late Tesco drop and told Lee he had to wait in for it. When it arrived at 6.30 it was too late for him to set off for sunny Manchester.

The Poole guest reserves outscored their Aces counterparts 13-7. I doubt Newman and Smart would have scored 13 between them so without the guests it would have been an even easier win.

All of the Aces, except Reade, who continues to struggle, rode well. Cooke and Zagar were outstanding and particular mention for Palm-Toft for passing Holder and leaving him for dead.

The guest reserves apart and maybe with the exception of Grajczonek and Pawlicki, who both had their moments, Poole were lacklustre. They had no big hitters and just didn't seem to have their usual determination and will to win.

For the first time I thought that perhaps they really are the current Man U of speedway. 😁

The next home match is against Kings Lynn so a tougher test of the Aces play off credentials.

There's no such thing as a standout in the regular season.

The 4 quality for the play-off's and the winner is decided in them.

Poole were without Ward today, the best rider in the Elite League along with possibly Jonasson who should come in for Milk come play-off time.

The Pirates will be a different beast come September, Matt has learnt his lesson about charging away with the league; It's all about building it up nice and slowly like they did last year.

Good to see the one track ponys in Milik ......

You're being harsh on Milik IMO. He won the first second string heat and had 2nd in his second but had to go after the win due to his under performing seniors (Holder and Janowski). Had he bene able to settle for that 2nd he'd have scored 5 away from home - his job. He didn't look too bad in his other heats too. I was suitability impressed with him, I think he's going to be a pretty good rider.

Biggest load of tosh I have ever seen you write............Milik is still on a learning curve.............you cannot write him off this early in the season............if you were at Havvy's Farewell you will have seen exactly what he is capable of............

why would we think of getting rid of Vaclav? So far he has done his job and more. would have got 5 last night if he wasn't trying to win the heat and that's 5 more than I expected from him to be honest. The track must have given him the collywobbles on the track walk.

Very good little rider for his age.

I read that Ward might be missing for another month, despite riding in Poland and the GP. So will that give Holder another month to reduce his average ready to replace another team member when the time is right. I smell something fishy, and Im not talking about the contents of Baldricks apple Pie.
