You've just solved the mystery of why Smart wasn't included yesterday - the senior riders knew they wouldn't be able to advise him on set-ups and riding style etc!!!! :D

ps. Smart is in the programme for Wednesday's meeting v Brummies!!

so what you are saying is that for a tricky away match.....................Smart is replaced by a better rider

and for an easy home match.............................................................Smart is suddenly available!

Same old from the pirates horses for courses policy...........................or basically cheating!

reason why they got rid of the number 8 ....remember that rule any reserve not availble must be replaced with number 8

number 8 rider was normally of a standard less than a reserve , so now theres no number 8 it gives teams a chance to invent an injury to rider out of form and pick a rider likely to score more points than missing rider.......... in reality a form of cheating, and in the process making the draft list look a joke

as Gavan has pointed out earlier, looks like Poole are stretching the rules again, no announcement why Lee wasn't available, then amazingly he returns for the next match..... or have squad systems been introduced in 2014..?

I think Matt Ford convienently forgot to tell Lee about this match.. :D

Bad PR for the sport... IMO

Not even the end of April, and Fraud is already playing to his own set of rules - with (seemingly) nobody caring less.

Can we start a petition to get the word 'Control' removed from the SCB's title?

What an absolute farce this sport has truly become.

Can't believe the whinging over a missing reserve who was replaced by a rider lower in the order!

For all I know or care Smart might have a job and not have been able to make the trip. Who cares Poole used a rider lower than Smart in the draft.

I hope we retain the title with LOADS of controversy. LOL!!

Well there you go folks - straight from the donkey's mouth.

A 'supporter' that, by his own admission, doesn't care about one of his team's young, British draft riders.

What's the matter Mr. Shovlar.............not enough C's, W's or Z's in his name?

Have you see the Lee Smart?

Lee has been missing from home for over three days now and his local neighbours don't give a toss are very worried.

It is feared that if Lee has got lost he will now be very cold, frightened, and hungry (most definitely hungry, look at him!)

Experts are concerned that he may have fallen victim to poachers, or been abducted by aliens, the hamburglar, terrorists, or a camp hairdresser and his dim hotelier sidekick.

A reward is on offer for anyone who doesn't return him to Poole.

Help find the Lee Smart

Smart went missing and was replaced by a rider lower in the draft as per regulations FACT

Whether or not he is a better rider is an issue you should take up with whoever drew the list up and is nothing to do with Poole.

Everyone is missing the point here. The rules are set each year for all the teams in the Elite League. and to my knowledge all nine teams do their best to comply. It has become an excepted practice that Poole can do as they wish. When the FTR was first introduced, it was said these riders were to have ridden in the NL last year and not have a EL average. But Poole were allowed to have Kyle Newman which contradicted both arguments. When a squad system was suggested, it was thrown out, It was argued it would be better to have shared No 1 rider, but that too was discarded. But Poole are above all these rules, and are allowed to do whatever they want.

Does it matter that they will employ the FTR on a Rider for courses basis. We all knew they would, and nothing has been done to stop them.

I suggest at the next management meeting that Poole be awarded a 10 pt start, No, make that a 20pt start bonus at each meeting to enable them to always win, so then there will be no reason for them to break any more rules...

ok what you are saying has 2 ways of looking at it.

Poole replaced Smart with a lower draft pick is correct. However if you think Smart is better than Greenwood then you are wrong.

Poole stuck to the rules in who they replaced Smart with.

However the fact Smart went missing and is now available is farcical. There has been no reason given for his absence.

We al know why he was missing so Poole would have a better chance against a tough Belle Vue side.

The fact he is back against a weaker Birmingham side shows Poole have pulled a stroke - although as you say in the rules.

If there is no GENUINE reason for Smarts absence then Poole have effectively cheated by leaving him out against Belle Vue

As it happens I think Olly is by far the better rider at the moment.

Reasons for Smarts absence will have been give to and obviously accepted by the Belle Vue management and the Referee on the night.

I'm sure after tonights meeting someone will have found out why he was missing.
