Peterborough V Newcastle - Tuesday 29th April

Perhaps the team suits are to try and made the gladiators LOOK professional, instead of everyone turning up with something making then looking like a bunch of misfits, then you would have a better case for a rant. Talking about individuality, I don't suppose anybody on here now looks at the fork and bike covers. Try it.

Couldn't keep away, could you. :D

'fork off',,,, ya being silly now, lol,,,

if you can't tell a rider by his riding style,,, your not paying enough attention, or have'nt been going long enough :-)

That sort of illustrates my point though - doesn't it. Everyone, including the Referee needs to know who the Goalkeeper is so he is dressed differently - for identification purposes. The fact that Speedway is a Team Sport does not mean that you don't need to identify individual Riders. Different Sports require different solutions. Speedway SHOULD have kept it's Racejackets AND it's TRADITIONS. It should also have sensible Rules/Regulations.

If these new 'Suits' were so good, then why are lots more people not coming to see the spectacle. Lack of Individuality is ONE of the reasons, I suggest - they are all look the same.

poppycock!!! :-)

so are you saying you go to speedway and don't know who's who because they wear team suits??

Is there anything in modern speedway that you actually like or agree with? :)

Yes - the Racing. :t::approve:

Apart from that - not much really.

But it used to be so much better. :t:

Just my opinion (and quite a few others too).

I think your bored with it,,, but it's habitual,,, it was good when there was a bit of fracar,,, it was much better without all the rules n regs, health n safety, it's all about being safe and PC and keeping the whingers happy,,, such is life nowadays :-(

Not the Racing - just most of the rest of it. Bored is probably the wrong word - disillusioned is how I feel - I can't speak for others.

I do still attend each week though.

Think I seen somewhere, that none of the top 5 were gonna be riding in the same position as of Tuesday, so that's Robbo at 1, Schramm bam demolition man at 6, n L Rose at 7,,, hope that helps :-)

Ruff, have you just given us a sneak preview of a new centre green nick name?

No mate , excluded is excluded is excluded or even disqualified

I think I rider has been excluded twice from the same race twice, I remember reading the Speedway Star back in 1970 about an incident at Newport's Somerton Park the details I'm not sure about , but I think Jon Erskine was excluded from heat 2 twice, I cant recall the circumstances, maybe someone out there can remember ?
