Glasgow Vs Panthers - 27th April

Recommended Posts

Excellent meeting today with passing inside and out right up to the final heat. Ostergaard under Wolbert was brilliant on turn 2 in ht15 and behind Berge and Bjerre were going at it full on. There is a side to Bjerre jnr that I just don't like, I'm all for hard racing but he had Berge wiped out on turn 4 just before their crash, its quite something he managed to stay upright.

Glasgow chucked points away to give PB their point, why Anders thought he would round Rusty on the last lap of ht4 when under no pressure was just mental. Rusty then came off at the same spot in ht13 when Wolberts drive under Lawson left him nowhere to go on the outside. Pijpers chain snapping in ht14 didn't help matters though cancelled out by Jacobs EF.

As some have pointed out it would have been a different story if Fisher was there but he wasn't so that's that.

What a great yet anxiety filled meeting! Glasgow finally looking like the team I thought they were capable of. Felt so good to get the win although that crash at the end looked awful, really hope Dimitri is OK as he really is something special. I agree that the score does flatter Peterborough a bit. I think Glasgow deserved all 3 points IMO but I'm just glad we have finally got a win under our belts especially after all the bad luck we had this afternoon. Hope to God all of the riders that crashed today are OK!

Bjerre did it twice to Berge.

Considering Bjerre looked very fast and unbeatable in his first 3 rides it just shows how fast and much of a danger Berge has become!

Anders was a bit silly. I put it down to a combination of youthful exuberance and adrenaline.

All the Tigers looked pumped up at the start today so maybe he was just caught up in the atmosphere.

Lesse Bjerre is a tadger! JG should of taught him not to mess with people up here!

He mixes ambition with ability which is a dangerous game in this sport

What a meeting , we must have broken a lot of mirrors? We did our best to throw the meeting ! Thought we deserved all 3 points as were in scoring position when crashing . I would have left Lemo in his last heat , he would probably have got 2 points in it, but hey HO I am not the manager . At the rate Dimitri is progressing he will be no. 1 by end of the season , the boy is a real find . Really hope he is okay after his spectacular crash , he never gives up. Pleased with the effort from all the boys

The only way Glasgow will win is if the Panthers end up in Dublin.

Im expecting 4 points, A win is the minimum we will get but we really need that extra point to make up for last night.

Get it right up ye. Sideywise.

Or "hard luck old fruit" just in case you're unfamiliar with this triumphalist Scottish greeting.

I feel the need to come out in support of young Liam Gallagher fan , or whatever himself or herself calls themself these days . The forum is a bit of fun and shouldn't be taken that seriously . He , or she , likes a wind up - that's great . Our sadly missed from the forum Tiger 2799 used to do the exact same thing and it's funny .

At the moment we have someone getting sniffy on the Comets v Panthers thread about someone calling Ales Dryml , Dribble . Would we rather have a forum full of that ?

We moan there's no personalities in speedway anymore , well lets not snuff the life out of the forum too . I think the young lad , or lass , is great and the more fun on the forum the better .

Thank you for your patience, with so much having happened since yesterday we wanted to first ensure that the information we shared out is reliable and stable.

As previewed earlier, Dimitri has been admitted to hospital in Glasgow (and may yet be transferred within the City) and has undergone a range of assessments and tests – with more planned – to investigate the pain from his right hand side/back area, and right wrist.

Dimitri has been made as comfortable as possible, and currently is being detained within a high dependency unit more so for observation. The doctors believe he may have suffered some damage/bruising to his kidney area and have elected to run more tests to determine the best course of action. It looks likely that, at best, he will remain in hospital for the majority of this week.

Doctors do not believe he has suffered any breakage to his wrist.

With his family around him he, and they, are in good spirits generally, and have even been playing back the heat 15 crash to the hospital staff! Neeless to say that, in true speedway style, Dimitri has already spoken about getting back on track!

Clearly, and rightly, we are only concerned with Dimitri’s health and well being and that we see him on the road to a quick recovery.

At the moment we are preparing to have to rest him for a little while – we can only confirm this further at the end of the week.

Given that he remains in high dependency, and is with his family, we ask that everyone respects their privacy at this time. If supporters would like to send best wishes please, for now, do so via email to info@glasgowtigers.co and we will ensure these are passed on to him. If you would particularly like to send him a card, for now, please hand these in at the turnstile this Sunday and again we will pass these to Dimitri.

Many thanks for your patience and understanding.
