Witches V Scorpions 24/4/14 Pl

I don't blame Blackbird, He must have seen the effect riding for the Panthers has had on the likes of Darcy Ward, Jason Crump, Michael Jepsen Jensen, Niels Kristian Iversen and Ryan Sullivan.

Blackbird is well on his way to follow in the footsteps of the famous five.

I have said this before as we seem to have set the team up similar to Newcastle last year. No outright no1 but if riders do well any of 6 could be in that position during this season. It is, also, set up that the top 6 riders can win races & race team mates, hopefully, finish 2nd or 3rd. Definately, not last! This means that their averages would stay around the same.

We have lost our no1 & we are not firing on all cylinders. Is this due to lack of match practice, no friendlies. We, also, are blaming our track & the uneveness of the gates at the start. Again, lack of practice especially when we knew the track would be dug up then re-levelled. I have faith in this team barring Matt, sorry mate, but like Bates last year, not ready for the PL.

Matt Williamson isn't the problem at Scunny. He'll be just fine in my opinion, just needs a little time and I'm sure we'll soon reap the benefits. Its the use of RR that's killing us... it simply hasn't and doesn't work, all it does is pee supporters off (that we don't need!). We need the established riders to start pulling in their weight and putting in the performances that we expect of them.... and that simply ain't happening at the minute. Basically, we need them to be scoring points with more consistency. Matt will come good, he shouldn't be made the scapegoat of our lack of consistency from the established guys. Whatever... we have issues.. unless they're resolved I fear for our season. We need a new face to bolster the ranks,. Its ok saying Anders Mellgren will be back in a month or so (but will he? we don't know that)... to wait for him is a gamble and perhaps too long a wait in my opinion. We should look to bring someone in, if only as a temporary measure. What are our current rolling averages? What are our options?

Im not blaming matt for our problems at all, he is just not good enough (YET) & im fed up year after year of saying the same crap.

The problems with the team is lack of consistency between Birks, Auty, Howe & Jorgy coupled with (Vissing apart) our misfortune with Guests at number one (like nearly every season). On ebirght light is Douglas but he is going to be in the main body soon enough when we should be using his heavy scoring from reserve to win matches NOW.

When was the EWR "dug up"?

Last year it was the 2 PL rookies at reserve that did us. This year we have only 1 PL rookiie and one excellent reserve making up for it. So I dont think the problem is with the reserve berth. I think the team is short of that No 1, we need that rider who can produce 8 to 10 points each meeting. Our riders are inconsitant at the mo. We cannot lose that 1pt at home we need to get all 3 pts. thats another thing we did last year. Even if we did get Mellgren back sooner than we thought. whats to say he can get straight back into scoring the points. Look how long its taken David! Ash is doing well after his injury. Its a gamble when injuries are involved.
