dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Solid all round performance. Determined efforts and a well earned win. Didnt expect to see Ritchie again after that heat 2 crash - credit to him that he done so well despite feeling so crap! Track was much much better (thanks Bob) It cant have been easy given the state it was in at the end of Good Friday.
Albert
The Guest facility just isn't doing Scunny any favours..as it proved again tonight. Need a new rider quick or I fear Scunnys season will be over before too long. Most disappointed with this result and some of the performances tonight. 2ndbendbeerhut
Much better meeting tonight and not just because the Witches won. Only Jorgensen and Douglas put up a fight for the away team really. Worrall - 2 good heats, 2 poor heats. Chased Birks but couldn't get past, chased Douglas but did find a way through after mistake was made on final corner. Manzares - paid 10 and again looked good. Messed up start in "easy" heat 8 though. Risager - Poor in 1st 2 heats, staying on white line but then deceided that outside line was his and never headed. Heeps - Went round kerb crawling Lanham and Risager in 2nd heat, Should be happy with paid 8, heading in right direction. Tungate - Looked more like the rider that rode in Risagers meeting. Ellis - Strange night, Lifted in heat 2 and then knocked off, in turn bringing down Hawkins. Great gate in 11 but looked to be having bike troubles. Hawkins - Wiped out in heat 2, and couldnt get off bike. did well to continue to score valuable points Lanham - Doesn't like the number 1 race jacket does he! Howe - Great 2nd ride to gate and go but poor otherwise Jorgensen - Showed his liking for Foxhall, Unbeaten by opponent in 1st 3. Best Scorpion on show Birks - Gated in 1 heat and did well to keep Worrall behind in 11. Auty - Very poor showing, only scored points by beating Williamson and Ellis when he retired. Williamson - Great 1st ride until messed up 2nd bend and clouted the fence hard, did well to stay on. Douglas - Possibly ran out of steam in the end, bike certainly sounded strange. always in thick of action. So a much better night for the Witches, but certainly helped with Lanham and Auty's scoring (or lack of). Track much better and seemed to be an outside line forming, more of same next week hopefully. Edit 2014 aves Worrall 8.40 Risager 7.16 Tungate 6.57 Ellis 5.82 Manzares 5.82 Hawkins 5.68 Heeps 4.26 Edited April 24, 2014 by 2ndbendbeerhut
Baldyman
Wow looking at Heeps average, really goes to show he so far struggled for form.

spanner47
Normal service resumed after our horror Weekend. Good showing from 1-7, some decent racing on a well prepared track, if you were good enough you could pass from heat 1 - 15, cant ask for more than that, a jolly good evening. Gavan
Well done boys and good to see Cam firing again. Never seen Auty go well at our place and yet again ahocking
Super Blue
I think I must have been at a different meeting to everyone else on here. Although it was good to recover from the Easter weekend shockers I still thought we looked very unconvincing last night. The only proper passes I recall were Cam to avoid a 1-5 against and Rohan in ht 15. All the others were down to riding errors. We would also have been in serious danger of dropping points had half of the Scunthorpe even remotely turned up. I think we are very likely to struggle against the Monarchs next week unless we up our game big time!
TheScotsman
Is Lanham an Ippo asset? Only asking!! (He certainly was last night!!) Edited April 25, 2014 by TheScotsman
June
Well that was certainly a different Scunny side to the one that thrashed Shefffield at home only a week ago? Surely we have to get a replacement for Mellgren, 10pts from a No 1 in a meeting makes a hell of difference! to a score-line!.
montie
With 1,2,and 5 only getting 9 pts between then i cant believe we scored 39 points!!! Good effort really!
Islander15
Reading Ipswich's 2014 averages was interesting so here are Scunthorpe's: Home/away - overall (overall including bonus points) Douglas 8.60/4.80 - 6.49 (6.67) Howe 6.67/5.68 - 6.16 (6.70) Birks 6.40/5.07 - 5.83 (6.63) Auty 5.33/6.12 - 5.75 (6.13) Jorgensen 4.71/6.44 - 5.60 (6.17) Numerous guests at # 1 4.44/4.33 - 4.38 (5.33) Williamson 1.33/2.57 - 2.00 (2.15) Clearly guests aren't working, only Douglas is scoring over his average, and Auty's figure is inflated by his 14 from 5 at Sheffield. I can see a case for waiting at least until the GS's are out before making any changes; and making a final 'call' on the fitness or not of Anders. This is a very competative league and it will not be decided in the next month but you can soon see things getting hard if we put off the decisions too long. Everyone is down apart from Ryan; so a reshuffle is going to leave us with another powerful reserve. Thats how the team was set up. Not sure what Lanham was up to last night; the Ipswich track is in his DNA is'nt it?. The guests (Vissing apart) have not worked for us with Anders average at 7.33; your not going to get a No1 on that figure. That's not to say Anders ain't a No1, for sure he would have added 1.5pts to that. So it tells me we need to get in an 8pt+ rider or make more than one change?. Mikael Karlsson is an obvious shout or get Nicoli Kiindt (released by Swindon) back. I liked Klindt who might have occassional blips but pretty much scored solidly on most of the tracks at this level. Lewis
Just about fed up now, 6 riders who should have been puhing for the number 1 spot. Out of them, one is sadly injured, one is doing great (Douglas) & the other 4 are struggling badly pushing for a resere spot! we just cant seem to get them all firing at the same time. As predicted Williamson is completely out of his depth & needs another season in the NL, same like bates last year. The answer in the close season was Blackbird with a shuffle in the middle of the pack but that ship has well & truly sailed. Before anybody harps on about Scunny bringing on talent, yes we do but only if ready, you cant carry guys at this level, Sargeant to me would be a much better reserve but i dont know how that ties in with his EL commitments. Hoping Rob can turn this around either by helping with machinary or a reshuffle, after the bad start to the season the crowds will surely drop as people lose interest. They're just this years averages and the green sheets use rolling averages so they're not the same figure. Anders looks as if he's going to be back sooner than expected but in the mean time, had a 'proper' number 1 have scored 6 yesterday Scunny would have got a league point! But the team has been inconsistent with no-one standing out as the obvious choice to drop to me, maybe Auty for me but he's carrying an injury and just signed a full contract! If those 4 are struggling is swapping a 3.00 man for another really going to make much of a difference tbh? I'm surprised Blackbird missed out. Do you or Scunthorpe fans know why, or was it just averages? As to Sarjeant Coventry Storm are a Friday track even if the Bees don't ride on a Friday much. eric i
Ben Wilson and Nicolai klindt for Anders and Williamson, not sure if the averages would fit, I think I read Wilson is on 4 point average.

Not just Coventry Storm,he ride for them in the EL so would miss alot Matt Williamson you could argue is out of his depth, but you need a 3 pointer due to averages and there is no one any better,Mellgren was a huge loss to this team, and is just about impossible to replace Folk can point the finger at Williamson but the real reason is riders above him just not firing on all cylinders i think Last night 9 points from 1,2 and 5 killed us,not having Williamson in the side The team was named as a 1-7 and fancied by many for silverware, its a long season Ben Wilson and Nicolai klindt for Anders and Williamson, not sure if the averages would fit, I think I read Wilson is on 4 point average. Miles out,Wilson is on a 6plus average If my figures are correct on a 24 match roller i get AM 7.44 TJ 5.58 RD 5.98 JA 7.18 MW 3 AB 6.65 DH 6.31 42.14 total Dont hold me to those figures but i reckon they not far out
